Well, NORAD really does track Santa. http://www.noradsanta.org/

Re:Are you sure?
No need to track his cell phone, NORAD has been tracking Santa for years.
-
Actually, it's already disproven
If Santa was moving so fast, how come NORAD can track him, and post videos of him at major cities...

You can get full screen, at least.
1. Open web browser of your choice.
2. Go to noradsanta.com
3. (if you have NoScript, turn it off or at least unblock everything but googleanalytics).
4. On the right hand side, there's a diagonal arrow. Click it.
5. Hit whatever button makes your browser go fullscreen.There. Full-screen Santa-y goodness.
Admittedly not QUITE as good as Google Earth, but you can at least get a full-screen Google Maps experience which is pretty darned close.
Tested in Linux (Mint 8, Firefox 3.5) and Windows XP, Firefox 3.5.
PS: Direct link to the fullscreen map: http://www.noradsanta.org/map.html#fullscreen

Re:National SecurityThis came up during the Cold War at NORAD. They wanted to make sure that the Russians didn't send an attack south at the same time Santa was making his rounds on Christmas Eve!!! So they track Santa every year.
check out here http://www.noradsanta.org/en/default.php for the scoop!!!
I noticed this year he cleverly missed the middle east... maybe he's afraid of getting shot down this year.... or maybe UN sanctions apply to Santa too!! -
Even NORAD tracks the old guy...
Just take a look at the Norad Santa scanner. Now we'd better hope he won't be identified as a terrist and shot down when he makes is way into the US

Re:Fun with kids

NORAD does. Check it out.

Tracking Santa
I like the Norad tracks Santa page best for Santa Tracking. I had to work tonight and missed being able to show the kids Santa's progress around the world.
-
Re:Big Deal
On the contrary, they'll be providing air cover for him. I guess maybe it's so the Martians don't kidnap him?

Re:NORAD santa tracker
If you look at the About Us page, you'll see lots of "Corporate Sponsors," including Akamai.
From the looks of things, the bandwith and servers necessary to deliver the site are not being paid for with your precious tax money.

Re:It was Santa :D
Aah, so that explains this site then!

SG-1 Santa
I don't think you can rely on NORAD.
Hey, if you couldn't rely on NORAD, they wouldn't keep the Stargate there.
(By the way, did you see the Has Santa Changed? page on the website? Looks like Santa stopped to pose with Carter at NORAD in 2002. Hmm...) -

for the children!
Looking at the very poorly rendered snapshots and flybys of Santa, I would feel bad telling my kid that it's really him. Hell, no wonder kids can't distinguish video games from reality!

Idiots who can read?

Other than Troll Tuesday, it's my favorite web-based holiday theme.

Can Santa be seen from space?
Speaking of the Station check out this story from CNN SCI-TECH. Apparently the astronauts will be teaming up with NASA and NORAD to track Santa's progress on Christmas and display it on their web site.
-
Of course Santa exists!
I mean, if NORAD is tracking the big guy, you know he exists!
Besides, it's not like the government to waste tax dollars you know *knocks on wood* :)
