It works - mostly. You need to reboot the xbox after installing it.
YMMV though.

Re:Nintendo 3DS Battery
You mean something like this? It looks more reasonable than most of the extended laptop batteries that I've seen.
-
It's also replaceable
It's also replaceable, with model-friendly replacements already being offered, such as Nyko's;
http://www.nyko.com/products/?platform=3DSYes, these typically increase the thickness of your device (spam e-mail subject, I know!) - but if you're looking for longer battery life, it's a pretty good option.
It's pretty much par for the course for handhelds, and a bunch of other mobile devices; even for dSLRs you can get extended battery options.

Re:Sigh
Hey man, I don't know if you're still having problems controlling your PS3 over IR but Nyko makes a PS3 IR remote. I use it and I'm pretty happy with it-the only thing it can't do is turn on the PS3, but that will happen automatically when you put in a disc.

Re:Yeah..
Just an FYI, if you're looking for a way to control the PS3 through IR, you can use Nyko's IR remote. That way you can use your universal remote with the PS3. It can't do on-off, but it can do almost everything else...and it's $15. Definitely worth a shot..

Re:Early?
Why the hell did you buy a Blu-Ray player if you already had a PS3?
Also, your PS3 can work with a universal remote, you just need one of these or a PS2 remote and USB/PS2 adapter.
The PS3 is a decent machine, it just needs to work on its cock and balls.

Re:Sticky Fingers
Sorry to admit this in public, but... I... have sweaty palms.
You probably want something like this mouse then. The other issue is the short cable. My G5 has bluetooth. Apple's bluetooth keyboard is a delight, but it, obviously, doesn't come with a USB hub built in. So where am I supposed to plug the mighty mouse in? If the the cable on the traditional Apple mouse is anything to go by its not long enough to be useful if connected to the rear of the G5. So will I be forced to use a bulky extension cable on a premium mouse - should I decide to buy one?
I can't imagine them not making a bluetooth version really soon. -
Re:At $49..
At that price i'd prefer a Nyko AirFlo Mouse with air vents and a built-in fan to cool your hand off
:)
They also sell air-flo gamepads for all major consoles. -

I already do this
I already play all my sports game on my TV. I have a video card that supports TV out and it works great. I bought four of these controllers and I find it to be much better than any of my consoles. I'm quite sure that lots of other slashdotters are already doing the same. This piece of hardware, like most Alienware products, is also way overpriced however I guess it would be perfect for people that aren't into building there own PCs.

Looks great!
I would love to have one of these that would work with my Linux computer that doubles as a Mame arcade, I currently am using these controllers for gaming on my Windows computer and they are great. There are several different styles of controllers for PC now that are great and that easily compare to anything available in the console arena.

Re:Keyboard? Try an IR Remote.
I also use Girder and an ATI Remote Wonder for my HTPC setup. The ATI remote came bundled with a Radeon 7500 All In Wonder and they work flawlessly together. The MyHTPC software also works wonders. There is an ATI Remote Wonder plugin available for MyHTPC too.
As for the keyboard and mouse, I use a Logitech cordless mouse and keyboard which does the job nicely. I keep the mouse on the coffee table and the keyboard in one of the drawers. The only tricky part is keeping the RF receiver on the computer far enough away from the components in your home theater as the cord on the unit is not very long.
I also have a 4 port USB hub running to a spot under the couch that allows me to quickly connect or disconnect things like USB Thumb Drives or USB Gamepads. I use the gamepads for many of the games on the system like GTA Vice City and MAME. Specifically I like the Gravis Gamepad Pro (BB $15, Nice mapping software), the Nyko AirFlo PC (BB $20, Dual Analog sticks, Air Flow technology), and if you can find it the GF USB Control Pad (BB $10, Dual Analog sticks). All of the gamepads work well with Girder and the games I use them for. Sometimes it is nice to have 3 or 4 different gamepads for N64 Emulators because it is easier to know which gamepad you are configuring. Before I had 4 Gravis Gamepad Pro's which was a pain because I had to label them 1 - 4 but windows would not allow me to change their names.
Of course VNC is a must but aside from that if you get your bindings tight in girder you can do almost anything with MyHTPC and a good remote. -
Re:Console vs. PC
I am one of the ones who will always want to play on my PC. I enjoy the Mouse and keyboard for one, and definitely enjoy the fact that I work on my computer a lot and can just turn on a game for a little to kill a few minutes. Also some of the new game pads for PC are awesome :
Gamepad
I have several friends that play PC games very regularly and have all bought a gamepad, most are very similar to the playstation 2 controller(including rumble, and some with fans), for games that you want to use a controller there are plenty available for PC (I admit most of them suck however there are some new ones that are great).
Furthermore, as HDTV makes more advancements into creating a clearer picture, computer hardware will continue to create better products and these products will always be available to the PC users first before they are put into a console. Even though these new consoles will be very powerful, by the time they come out a top of the line PC would be vastly superior in terms of graphics and extendibility.
PC gaming will always be around as there are enough of a user base that will continue to buy games to support it, console gaming will also continue as there is a very large user base that just wants to play games and do not want to deal with all the issues relating to PC gaming (upgrading, installation, troubleshooting issues that may occur etc.). Consoles are just small PCs that use the identical hardware and are supposed to run the same software, definitely makes development a little easier when the hardware is restricted as such.

Re:Nyko AirFloI agree -- the AirFlo is pretty good. My only real complaints are:
- I don't like that the d-pad is considered a "hat" by most applications. It can be a bit of a pain to configure.
- The d-pad is a little too close to the left analog stick, which makes certain input sequences (shoryuken!) difficult.
Other than that, it's a solid Playstation-like pad, and the fans inside it actually are pretty good for keeping the palm-sweat under control.

Nyko and GB(C|A), so happy together...Nyko has products that anyone that uses them seem to love (except for a little glare): Press Release for Worm Light for GBA
For the hardware hackers out there, IGN has an article how to adjust the contrast on your GBA (and Neo Geo Pocket. w00t): Game Boy Advance Too Dark?
