    Really, they have taken a laptop, removed the keyboard and touch pad and given it a stand.
    If you a look at the inside of the machine, you will notice that while it is a compact design it is much thicker than a normal laptop mother board, the hard-drive is also a 3 inch model and the power-supply is included in the box. The design is much closer to a pizza-box design as a laptop design. There have been other models done in this way (like for instance the 20th anniversary Mac.
    When you think of it this way, one really does have to ask the questions, "Why the hell hasn't this been done to death already?". :P
    Extensibility, this kind of design means that the machine will not be extensible, no PCI slots, no possibility of changing the video card, in short most of the drawbacks of the laptop design.

    It's a very dark blue on the right side of the picture. In the normal picture, it looks like a slightly yellowish stain.

    Also, it's most noticeable in this picture.

    Here's that coral cache thing

    Interesting that he's being charged with defacement of public property. We'll see how long it takes to release him. His goal of printing messages during the republican convention may not happen. Was that intentional on the superiors part?

    Cool idea, but if it was widespread, i think i would agree that its defacement. If there were messages everywhere on the ground, would you still consider it benign? As it is though, one person on one bike, i don't think it's defacement.

    What to me is really insulting is that companies can get away with printing their messages in the sky via those cloud making airplanes. When superbowl was here in san diego, they wrote heineken in the atmosphere to be read at least 20 square miles away from the stadium. I would rather not see my beautiful southern californian sky poluted by such nonsense that nobody can erase. At least this fellow uses chalk that can be removed pretty easily.

    Well , it sort of is. Right now (and I mean 12:32 EST 29/08/04) if you request a site which it hasnt allready cahced , like http://www.allabouttrivia.com it returns a nice little error page which says "Error 404 Not Found www.allabouttrivia.com: Resource temporarily unavailable Server CoralWebPrx/0.1 (See http://www.scs.cs.nyu.edu/coral/) at 169.229.50.12:8090 ". Despite the original site (all about trivia) still being up. :-)

    They both worked for me, but for some reason the second link took a very long time. I tried expanding it out to the limit of my browser's location bar, but that one failed with "Unknown host".

    Doesn't it analyze hyperlinks?

    All the links on Slashdot have the format
    <a href="//slashdot.org/blahblahblah">
    so that they will always link back to Slashdot. Most websites just use "blahblahblah" or "/blahblahblah" for their links. For example, links on google.com.nyud.net are fully functional.

    The question is not randomly generating. They should have some checking for this such that if the data varies by the second, that it does not cache the page or invisible frames the HTML and filter the content it can cache.

    Bleh.

    It will work in certain cases, but generally I am not that happy.

    Some reason, this works but this doesn't... guess there are limits to recursion. If for some reason the last link works, keep adding nyud.nets...
