Actually, I saw this as a take on the colloquialism "methinks"

Re:Wait a Minute!
Um... Not exactly...
Sentient has 6 matches at dictionary.com. The word reason is not in one of them. Your definition is in line with the beliefs of the Star Trek universe. -

Re:Eh?Love the post, but in the interests of grim reality the word being tried was extenuate. It's just a typing transposition.

Re:Eh?
Totally offtopic, but I think the word the poster was attempting to spell was accentuate

Re:Here's an idea...
Sorry, your definition is wrong, though you are stating what most people think "psychosomatic" means (I used to think this too). Look at the definition from dictionary.com. I guess I should have just said "caused by the mind" rather than using the word "psychosomatic." It makes no difference whether you think you have it or not. The pain is created by the mind as a distraction from unconcious emotions. If you think you have some kind of syndrome, it makes things worse, and can help make your condition "chronic" leading to a tms syndrome. Honestly, read Dr. John Sarno's work, he explains it much better than I can.
Having said all this I do appreciate an ergonomic workstation, though. I have the opinion that you can have pain from using a non-ergonomic workstation, but it doesn't lead to a chronic structural problem such as CTS, TOS, etc.

Re:Depends on what 'dead' is.
'On the Verge of Apotheosis' Linux: Gentoo. Total customization? This is fast becoming the 'l33t' of the 'l33t'.
Ok, hands up how many Gentoo users had to look that word up to decide if they needed to get defensive about their distro... ;)

Re:In marketing speak
seems quite difficult to give the actual feedback without the sound. moreover, wouldn't the sound be an important factor in the feedback you speak about?
The feedback he speaks about is tactile. And no, sound is not a factor at all. -

Irregardless....
is not a word
Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so. -
To those who modded the parent a troll
You must not be familiar with the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. It's a test that is administered to recruits. It pre-qualifies them for certain fields.
This friend of mine (a fellow who graduated from high school when he was 21) did not score well on his ASVAB and wound up assigned to a Bradley in Korea. He is a tool. Since leaving the service he has taken a few community college classes and worked his way up to Assistant Manager at Blockbuster.
The parent wasn't a troll, it was an observation, a bon mot. Rocket scientists work on rockets. Morons who can count drive Bradleys.

Re:PVR's?What? Maybe he *does* mean a nobhead. A nob on a head. So chill your know-it-all spew unless you really do know it all.
Which you don't.
That said, I'll say this: this Moxi stuff means nothing -- nothing -- until the product is shipping from cable companies, folks actually have it in their house, or you can buy it in Best Buy.
How many stories is Slashdot gonna run about some new whiz-bang PVR with Linux?
*cough* Indrema *cough* *cough*
Tivo is the king, has been the king, and will remain the king. Everything is a wanna-be. (At least until it's sitting on a Best Buy shelf beside a Tivo and I can actually buy it and take it home.

Who cares?
So you can keep your number... big deal.
Or as Phoney McRingRing said: "Well, scientists have discovered that even monkeys can memorize ten numbers. Are you stupider than a monkey?".
Having 4 crappy choices isn't competition. -
Superhydrophobic?
You mean it's got rabies?

I believe you misunderstood what he was saying. You might want to look up the word uqiquitous before disagreeing about what is ubiquitous.

Re:Geography LessonIn principle they have, that's what one china two systems means.
Not at all. China has specifically refused to recognize the government on Taiwan. This is why they say "President", or sometimes just "leader", when referring to Taiwanese government officials. China is very clear about their claim that there is only one government in China.
ROC officials are so obviously working to Helsinkify Taiwan and return it to it's state as a vassal of Japan instead.
Don't be silly. If Taiwan wants to be a vassal state, why not just be a vassal of China?
If they were belligerent they would have hit something with them.
I really don't want to get bogged down in a definition argument, but somebody shooting live ammunition over your head is in fact belligerent.
