There is no way they're going to prove to anyone now that any controversial moderation decision wasn't forced on them by outside pressure now.

It has already been shown that a relatively small group runs the moderation of both Reddit and Wikipedia and they have some disturbing beliefs and relationships that no one is mentioning because the MSM is not reporting on it, so it's up to places like /pol/ and other fringe outlets to do the research and reporting.

To get on topic, a certain Tom Edwards was Microsoft's head of geopolitical strategy which meant censoring products for the Chinese market. He joined the transgender cult and changed his name to Kate Edwards, then became head of the IGDA and was coordinating with the San Diego FBI to shut down alleged "harassment" of Zoe Quinn in July 2014. Note the date. When the Gamergate scandal broke a month later, Reddit was one of the forums that Shut Down Everything. Four years later, the now heavily censored Reddit attracts $150 million in Chinese investment.

Pretty good for a anti-harassment person, she does tell people to kill themselves and light themselves on fire often too. A dozen bomb threats doesn't appear to be true, but I did find three bomb threats against GG meetings: in Miami, Melbourne, and D.C. Now, those aren't police reports, but those appear to cost money from the DC police, at least.

Sarkeesian and Quinn both got more harassment than they deserved, for sure. Sarkeesian is a shitty game critic (and has stolen other people's game footage) but she shouldn't have gotten nearly that much attention. Quinn appears to have been emotionally abusive, and may have gotten more publicity (not a review, it seems) from a relationship, but again, those don't justify harassment either. That being said, apparently GG has still been doing stuff this whole time, but the actual harassment seems to have mostly gone away.

And right now I'd like to point out that Randi Lee Harper is speaking at OSCON this weekend.

TL;DR: A large and prominent tech conference (3.5K attendees) run by O'Reilly Media and sponsored by major tech companies is presenting Randi as an "anti-harassment" activist. When evidence of her track record of abuse and harassment was brought to the attention of the conference organizers last month, they publicly dismissed those contacting them about her as "trolls".

WHY THIS MATTERS: This is by far the biggest venue Randi has ever appeared in and the deception that she and the conference organizers are engaged in is shameful. If enough of us post evidence of who Randi really is to the #OSCON tag, there's a very good chance that future conference organizers (and their sponsors) will think twice before embarrassing themselves by giving Randi a platform.

Although #OSCON was notified of Randi's antics when news of her speaking engagement became public last month, they chose to ignore the evidence, instead of taking seriously their obligation to their attendee's well-being. Note that the organizers asked people not to take photos. It was clearly stated, and in the events leading up to this they tweeted the rules to him twice during their conversation. It appears that's where he got the idea from, in fact.

His goal was to get kicked out by breaking the rules. That's why he "surreptitiously" took the photos, because he knew that the organizers had asked him not to. His scheme, which some people apparently fell for, was to make out he was the victim when he in fact went out of his way to be booted out.

It's their convention, they make the rules, he knew them and broke them deliberately.

First, your link doesn't say what you claim it says. The word "professional" never appears anywhere in there, nor "paid", "compensation", or anything else that might imply it was a professional organization.

Second, the police report indicates that the restraining order forbid any posting of her personal information by Gjoni. But, as you admit, Gjoni spread internet links to nude pictures of her. Regardless of who put them up initially, it certainly seems like you're admitting he violated the restraining order.

Restraining orders are explicit orders to not do certain things. If you do them, you're in deep shiat, even if they seem to make no sense at the time. For example, when people with restraining orders who are told to stay away from each other due to a domestic fight later reconcile and get back together without first going to a court and having the order withdrawn go to jail. If the order tells Gjoni not to post any personal information about Quinn, and he posts a copy of a white pages entry naming her, he's still in violation of the order. There's no "sure, I posted personal information, but other people did too" or "sure I posted personal information, but it wasn't secret" defenses. You simply can't do it, or you're in violation.

If this is about ethics in game journalism, why isn't GG supporters focusing their attention and criticism on the actual game journalist who actually did the alleged unethical journalism. His role seems to be a side story in most of these discussions, when it is claimed to be the main agenda.

Considering that anyone with a cellphone can make a threat, that would be pretty much it. Since you can't actually provide proof that it's gamergate it boils right back to what it originally was. A singular person, mostly likely an anonymous singular person who was doing it for whatever reason. Considering that there's several tweets showing anti-gg making the threats, and members of gnaa(who also are prominent members of anti-gg), I guess that answers where all those constant threats are coming from right?

Beyond that, you point out metacritic and mention 0/100 scores... but there's only one professional review on metacritic (50/100), and a user reviews on every other side. I'm SURE none of the scores could possibly be related to the gamer gate nonsense.

I'm sorry. The game just isn't any good as a game. This game wasn't greenlighted on steam on its first attempt. On it's second attempt ZQ then took to twitter after the doxing to ask other SJW (I was surprised to find out that that was actually a thing) folk to help get it through steam to show those virgins at wizardchan who harassed her (there's a tweet from her about that too). At that point the game, in its second attempt at greenlight on steam, was in its eighth day with almost non-existent support. After her tweet urging people to support it because of the harassment, it went through.

Sad to say, but that game would never have stood a chance on it's own merits (there's a popular ZQ tweet complaining about meritocracy in gaming :-)), it needed the publicity of "misogyny in gaming" (a thing which we have yet to see). It took the combined effort of a politically-aligned group of people to actually get it on steam. After that, users downloaded it and lambasted it to hell and back. Hence, the media blackout.

This just reaffirms that ZQ is irrelevant to the discussion, especially when it should logically be about NG.

Logically? Logically it should be about the media blackout which caused this whole thing to cascade. Hell, FCOL, wizardchan don't even have a gaming subgroup! The only reason this took off like it did was due to the en masse banning of people and threads who said that the "game" sucked. This sentiment was expressed before any reported harassment took place, btw. The reported harassment occurred only after it was evident that the game sucked.

I read your post all the way through, and you make some very good points. Misandrists are an extreme reaction to misogynists, and reverse discrimination violates the rule most of us learned as kids, that two wrongs don't make a right. People who attack someone based on their gender are idiots, doesn't matter whether they're men or women. But Intel pulling advertising over a bunch of griefers? Of either sex? That's equally idiotic.

Hard-core, bra-burning anti-male feminism was a reaction to the barriers women had to overcome. There's still plenty of sexism, lots of "glass ceilings" and silly assumptions related to competency for various tasks depending on your gender and stuff, but I'd like to think we're making some progress as time goes on.
