How to make hit songs in 5 minutes by ANGEMI

If you follow any one of those "learn to play in 2 hours" type courses, you'd know this. (These are the courses that don't teach from first principles and generally get you playing within about 5 minutes).

You learn that most songs are composed of about 4 chords, and regardless of instrument (piano, guitar, ukelele, etc), those 4 chords are all you need to basically play about 90% of the music out there.

The chords are I, V, vi, and IV.

Which I think in C-major key, is C, G, Am and F. The more interesting thing is, you play these chords in the same order! (On a piano, I think you'd play it with D-major, and guitar is what, G major?)

It's a somewhat harmonious chord relationship, which is why it can be transposed to any key and the songs sound "the same".

Of course population can be done by letting nature take its course and people starve to death or you use force. But due to rapid urbanization all the hybrid warfare that is possible with today's technology it's not just as easy any more. Using a missile without also causing some significant collateral damage from which yourself may not recover that easily is almost impossible.

The question is, the word is supposed to be distinct enough that you're not going to accidentally trigger it.

The word is distinct (unless you have someone named Alexa in the house). Computer interpretation of sounds is not.

What Amazon is insinuating is they use "Alexa" a lot in their conversation and thus end up triggering their devices "accidentally".

Amazon is insinuating no such thing. It's right there in the summary with the words "sounding like". Computer vision and sound are often fooled by strange collections of sounds. Coincidentally enough I was at dinner with friends yesterday and in a conversation about cycling without any mention of Alexa (didn't know they had one) it decided to turn on and play some kind of children's tune, I think it was the bananas in pyjamas theme.

Even worse, doesn't Alexa acknowledge commands? If Amazon say it heard "send message" to a contact, wouldn't it be good for it to say "OK, message sent to John Doe" to acknowledge that yes, it actually did it?

Yes indeed it does. Read the summary. Incidentally if you're carrying on a conversation somewhere, some little computer off in the distance confirming what you said can easily be overheard. One of the bigger problems is that of attentiveness. It's all good and fine for a computer to sit idly waiting for a keyword, but once it hears the keyword it will do its damnedest to turn the following sounds it hears into an instruction and with its limited instruction set you're likely to hit something you sometimes don't want.

Dude, I don't care about AMD or Intel as such, but it's pretty damned obvious, and it has been so for a very long time, that one of these companies have far more questionable ethics than the other.

I've never heard of AMD resorting to criminal behaviour like bribing or or extorting manufacturers OEMS to simply not buy from competitors with a superior product. I can't say the same for Intel.

As for the latest year of highly publicised bugs, there's more of the same pattern emerging; The bugs that has hit Intel are generally far worse with more severe implications and bigger impact. Yet if you read on them you easily get the impression that they are really not a problem, and even if so, AMD is no better. Which is wrong, at least so far. For the final nail in the coffin, you need to look no further than the whole CTS Labs saga, which was such an obvious hit job and had Intel markings all over it. For a pretty good summary and analysis of the whole thing just watch this.

This "news piece" follows exactly the same pattern: Big hoopla about some supposedly catastrophic AMD flaw which in reality is pretty "meh" - "Bad admin can steal secrets!", who'd have thunk? - right on the heels of Intel getting caught with their pants down in a really bad way again.

I'm not saying AMD is flawless, but IMNSHO this is a diversion. We are being manipulated and I will not tolerate it.

This gets me every single time.
