Re:And What Will Come of It?
You have a good point, but going along with the point that BrendaEM made, all we're doing with the videoing of cops, is the same thing that was originally done when making someone a cop. We look at the video as the final truth, the "displayer" of pure truth. And to that you're saying that is a measurement, and I cna't disagree completely, yet. However, this guy introduces some variables that should be taken into account before we all just move all of our faith from the police officers to video.

Re: It's OK to Not Tolerate Inteolerance
As I explained elsewhere, requirements for new prospective citizens are never and should never be applied to native-born citizens for several reasons--some good, some bad and yet unavoidable.
That's nice and all, but they're still around, and they scare me, especially when they claim to be the TRUE AMERICANS. Be nice if one of you wringing your hands over the overseas threats would speak out against those in-country, even if to say "Poo-Poo, shame on them!" instead.
If there were never any restrictions whatsoever on immigration then larger countries could invade smaller ones by simply sending people over there to register to vote.
I don't see that as a relevant problem (more later), but that'd be a better option than some of the current means. Hmm, what book did I see that idea in? The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms I think. You should read it. Good book. But I digress.
The entire premise of the 'zero restrictions on immigration' camp is warped beyond comprehension. It's just untenable.
Getting back into the later above, that's not the premise anyway. Nobody other than a few libertarian anarchists anyway. You're the second person today that I've seen make this claim in some context, but what you don't get is that it's not actually being seriously proposed anyway. Why are you complaining about it as if it were?
Or are you confusing the rejection of your presented standards with "OMG, they mean no standards at all!" ? It doesn't. It just means that your particular expression of standards is not considered tenable.
Really, if I wanted to talk about one human nation, I would, but I don't see it happening at the moment. Maybe a song would be nice. But that's not serious either.
Bible-thumbing douchebags are a problem. They are nowhere near a problem, globally speaking, as Qu'ran-thumping douchebags. The two problems are orders of magnitude apart. If you can't admit that, then you are hopelessly delusional.
Whereas I think if you can't admit they are two of the same kind, or even bring up their existence, you have a problem of your own.
Then again, I think they're a problem when thumping Dianetics, Chariots of the Gods, the Fountainhead, or Catcher in the Rye. I won't say you're delusional though, not without some statement of a delusion. Maybe you're just not thinking, or maybe you don't realize how it damages your credibility.
Still, I won't give up hope on you. I'm not that cruel.
Immigration is by definition a global issue; you can't wriggle out of this by appealing to America's relatively small Muslim population.
The day you want to talk about immigration as a global issue, is the day we have to start a whole new conversation. Do you want to do that?
Might I suggest you try taking a deep breath or two and realize it's possible to be for LGBTQI rights, against corporate greed, against Trump, etc. and still be against allowing open Islamofascists to not only enter the country, but become citizens. These people do exist, you realize that? They're not just Trump's imagination.
Here I am, thinking you are the one who needs to take some calming breaths as you fail to realize exactly how I'm taking things. You'd do better in persuaded me if you admitted there were Christian Fascists, Crazy Tax-Protesters, and a need to help actual refugees. You went off point to some other issues, that aren't even significantly close to the actual topic. I mean, I'd be glad to hear you support fixing the local potholes too, but I don't really want to distract from the conversation that far either. Bonus points if you can talk about the actual refugees without another hand-wringing complaint about them needed to be screened, as if no effort was going to be made to do that anyway.
Besides, you don'

Should not surprise anyone
As we all saw, Russia interfered with the free and open elections in Eastern Ukraine after the Putin lapdog Yanukovych fled into the arms of Putin when the people of Ukraine wanted closer, more open ties with the West.
Russia sent in its troops and armed its terrorist proxies who burned polling places, burned ballots, threatened anyone who tried to vote, tried to rig votes, and even bragged about doing all of the above by recording their goings on.
Considering the amount of groveling Trump is doing at Putin's feet for his own personal gain and has openly asked for the same foreign government to commit espionage on a U.S. citizen, it would be surprising if Russia wasn't trying to game the system. So long as Putin has been in power that has been the name of game in Russia: only those Putin approves are allowed to run for office.
That Russia is now trying to electronically influence U.S. elections only shows how desperate Putin is to have the sanctions lifted which are dragging his country down each day they are in place. As reported a week ago, Russia will literally run out of money by the middle of next year if sanctions aren't lifted. Supporting the terrorists in Eastern Ukraine and the Syrian regime is costing Russia money it can ill-afford to lose yet from all appearances, Putin is vowed and determined to drag Russia down with him. That is why they are attempting to interfere in U.S. elections. -

Re:To late .. they are already here
What conspiracy? To keep people in the dark? That's a fact, not a theory.
You can see NASA's own evidence of UFO's, Edger Mitchell's own testinomy, many Government officials, researchers, time and time again admit this.
Lastly, 12 years ago I met an alien -- but you can keep trying to label other people's experiences that don't fit within your myopic perspective.
Only the ignorant stick their head in the sand and ignore a problem. The truth is:
We were never alone.
In roughly 8 years this fact will be public. You can either accept it now or later. Your choice. But all the wishful thinking won't change fate.

Re:"they'd be back if it happened again"
"The police told me they'd be back if it happened again." For what crime? Is it normal for police in Canada to threaten to invade an innocent couple's home for doing something legal?
Tor is a thorn in the side of despotic regimes. They will harass anybody who runs an exit node. Best case, they break down a door and find some pot in an ash tray, then lock this couple up for a few years. It's good for the police union, good for the prison industry, and good for the black ops programs funding their budget with drug smuggling.
Win-win-win (unless you're a subject of the regime).

Re: Never
In other words, the article you quoted is irrelevant. The world has moved on. The government does not want any more of what they called unethical and abusive conversion therapy on children - not from Zucker, not from anyone else.
Except if you actually read what I mentioned, that's not what anybody accused him of, except for the PC police.
Again, what do you fear so much about transsexuals that you can't even call them by their names?
Who? Bradley Manning? Bruce Jenner? Actually about that -- I refer to everybody by names I've known them as for a long time. That includes my sister who legally changed her name (and still remains her birth gender, by the way.) That also includes that total douchebag Brianna Wu, who I've never known by any other name.
That has nothing to do with being trans or anything like that; it's that I think it's a load of crap that somebody can be one thing and then one day wake up and claim to be something/someone else and expect everybody to follow that as if life is world of warcraft on an RP server where one you hop on an alt, you're suddenly a new identity with a new personality (and yes, I'm also annoyed by RPers.) And don't think your special because that includes this:

Much in the same as that woman wants to be a cat and might pick up the mannerisms of a cat, at the end of the day she's a woman. Likewise much as you pick up the mannerisms of a woman, you still are a man, and even debate just like one.
That offends you? Honestly, that's your problem, not mine.

Re:Yeah but there's a whole world out there
Ok, I'm sorry but I'll have to work. Go look further on the Ukranian thing if you are willing. It was some time ago, I read at the time, so I couldn't find more relevant links in a short time. There were American financed NGOs, trade deals to disrupt relations with Russia, the NATO threat, and the pro-US president screwing the country to cause the "resentment over 50 years of Russian hegemony " (do you honestly think there would be a "government turnover" if the people were not screwed over?). If you don't think putting missiles on your border is a serious threat (and they needed the "government turnover" for that) just remember the Cuban missile crisis, and that your country considers this kind of thing a serious threat. So yes, the Russians where between having missiles on their border and invading Ukraine. If the "turnover" wasn't associated with NATO, the missiles and Yats, I wouldn't think the US was at fault. If with all those things you don't think it is, think again.

The interview about how supporting terrorists would help terrorists relates to a 2012 report by the DIA. Here is the DIA report, heavily redacted (it's just three pages out of seven pages). Before "the rise" of ISIS, the report is an intelligence alert that ISIS would happen depending on US actions. Please, at least watch the 5 minutes video with the American intelligence officer.

The Real Reason Car Dealerships Are the Worst
Adam Ruins Everything - The Real Reason Car Dealerships Are the Worst.
Summarising the vid: dealerships have pressured/lobbied Congress (in the US) to pass franchise laws. Which make it so you can only sell new cars if you're a car dealership. And there are dealership "territories" so it's illegal to open a new one in another dealership's territory. So car manufacturers in most (all?) states can't sell directly to customers.
(Though I'm not quite sure how Tesla has been able to sell cars directly to customers in states other than Michigan.)

Re:Right.
The solution is to set aside $5,000,000,000 for ALL federal elections and ban any donations to ANY organization remotely affiliated with ANY politician. Then index that $5B to inflation (we'd see real inflation rates again vs. the tweaked numbers reported today, but that's another story).
That way, Congressmen don't spend half of every work day in a call center, making phone calls for money for their party's candidates. They can actually READ legislation they're working on.
The cons argument of, "It squelches free speech," is countered by the fact that our representatives WE CHOSE voted to pay for all elections. That is our free speech - who we vote for... Besides, not ALL free speech is healthy/allowed in a free society - and the dirty, financial side of "free speech" in the form of lobbying/corruption is definitely bad for the country as a whole. Yes, corporations and lobbyists should be able to make their arguments, but not with a side of green to tip the scales in their favor.
