I didn't mean for the prisoner. It is probably even getting charged to the prison at a premium price because that bill is just handed over to the taxpayer. It ain't free, at all. It is strange though that prisoners seem to get better basic health care than the general public.

  8. Although I am not the original poster, and I am definitely not denying smart phones have legitimate advantages. They also have disadvantages, not being connected all the time is a good thing as well, not knowing that an issue has occurred until you come into work takes away stress.

There's nothing inherent about smartphones that mean they HAVE to be connected all the time. If you have a regular dumb phone you can still get the text messages and phone calls and probably emails. You're just as connected. Just don't install facebook and all that shit or at least turn off notifications.

Apparently what you want to be doing is carrying around a whole bunch of shit instead of one thing that can do it all. Who knew?

Don't worry, I'm sure as he progresses the tory ladder he will increase his levels of incompetence, authoritarianism and dishonesty. There is no "moral" choice, because Apple's actions are not going to change anything either way.

These are the choices Apple faces:

    1. Stay in China, and do nothing to fix China's problems. 2. Leave China, and do nothing to fix China's problems.

This is the famous Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

The problem is not that Apple lacks courage, but that you lack wisdom.

There's also a difference between seeing a pool of shit and diving on in anyway because that's where the gold is and saying, I don't want to swim in this, I have enough gold.
