Millions of Games

duncangough writes "With the recent rise in popularity of casual games and the seemingly established presence of community bookmarking sites such as del.icio.us, Millionsofgames.com is one of the first websites to provide an amalgamation of these two themes. MOG is a social bookmarking service for flash, shockwave and java games although any type of game can be added, such a MMORPGs or downloadable games like Zuma and Bejewelled."

Since millionsofgames appears to be slashdotted, I guess there's nothing to do but convert this thread into a NEW millionsofgames!

None of these fancy-schmancy social information tools are anything that we can't recreate with our own slashdot moderation system! In fact, with enough work, I believe we can build a full gaming engine out of comment threads.

I vote that we put the next red pixel at (14,220). If you disagree, moderate accordingly.

So while Mame may be a great gaming system, it is far from all-inclusive, and there will always be a taste for a game that Mame can't provide.

Nope, you're not alone. I was going to post one of those 'I don't use Flash you insensitive clod!' threads but yours will do just fine.

People keep telling me that I'm missing a lot of good things by not using Flash but I don't find that my web experience is diminshed in any fashion. I can find the information I need without having to wait for a Flash ad to load or interfere with my searches.

Just so others out there don't bring the subject up, I don't care that FF has a FlashBlock extension. Not having Flash installed trumps the blocker.

For those that want to use Flash and Shockwave, more power to you. Hope you have fun. For me, I don't care to have that stuff on my system.

I know my nieces and nephews will sit down at a computer and play some bizarre games that I've never seen or heard of before. I'd imagine once they get wind of this site, they'll be on there quite a bit. So who's the target market? Will they market to a younger teen crowd or will they market to adults (with purchasing power)? Either way, it semes like a pretty good way to get a site up with a lot of traffic.
