    In fairness, I think all of us have accidentally dropped a consumer device in water or let it sit on a dashboard on a hot day. While this technology may not initially be useful for regular devices, eventually we may come to benefit from it.

    Agree completely! Now when are we going to level fines on GM's, Chevy's, and all of the other auto manufacturers wholesale ripoff of Ford's intellectual property!? The steering wheel, the parking brake, and windows that roll both up and down! These innovations took decades of R&D from the best engineers on the planet, just like Apple! It's time we kick those freeloaders to the curb and award both Ford and Apple a monopoly over their respective industries in perpetuity. It's the only fair thing...right?

    I love sports, I currently play in our city football league and our 30 and over basketball league. However, I haven't purchased anything from EA since NCAA Football 2009. I simply don't see enough of a graphical difference to warrant upgrading every year, if the developers could focus on creating a compelling, and fun version of the games and simply charge a small(ish) fee at the beginning and end of each each season to update stats, rosters, and records I think they'd win the penny-pinchers like myself back over.

    We're already there, AC. I hear a lot of jingoistic chanting from my countrymen and it is the saddest form of denial. We have a laughable health system, a failing pension system, and an education system that seems to be a joke without a punchline. We consistently reduce taxes on the rich to the point where they're paying less as a percentage than they were in the 1950's with the feeble hope that this will help the job situation. The empire of the United States came and went in the blink of an eye, but hey...it was good while it lasted.

    1) Google lost on the copyright issue and was ordered to take down the newspapers from its search results.

    2) Google News does not include entire articles, usually only enough to entice you to visit the actual site of the paper in question, thus driving up traffic free of charge. Don't even get me started with your "Thou shalt not steal" drivel. I award you no points, and highly recommend that you report to the nearest sterility clinic, your genes (specifically those meant for intelligence and reasoning) won't pass muster.

    Does this include a full strip-search every time I take a train, or a bus, or get into my truck? Nobody can ensure 100% "domestic tranquility" we need to find a good middle-ground between reasonable security measures and the TSA thugs using the constitution as a hand wipe after they finish checking the colons of the American traveler.

    It sounds like you're trying to be sarcastic, but that describes my life (I do have a girlfriend) and I enjoy it very much. She makes as much as I do and when we go out we take turns picking up the tab. I don't see a problem with that situation.

    Google has a long track record of products that never took off. Google+ may be no exception. They probably shouldn't overentangle things into it in an attempt to "force" it into popularity.

    I'm pretty sure every company has a wall of shame; must I bring up Bob, the Newton, or Clippy? This feels more like a consolidation than the launch of a new product. I'm concerned about how this will affect Google's CLI, I have an extensive number of scripts for backing up my photos to Picasa on-the-fly.

    I do essentially the same thing from my own home server using a combination of Debian and Plex (for video). I'm a bit afraid that if they ever find out that I'm able to listen to my music and watch my movies from wherever I travel, I'll be knee-high in shite.

    You do know Google+ has built-in video chat, right?

    Actually I was not aware of that, although after thinking about it, it is pretty obvious that it would have the same functionality currently built into Talk. I'm going to withhold judgment until I can play around with the site and measure load times. If Google+ is anything like GMail or Voice then I would expect it to blow Facebook out of the water.
