I've been using hulu.com for a lot of stuff. I really don't mind the ads playing every 15 minutes or so. They're unobtrusive, no louder than the show, and they're not the same one every time. Plus the quality is substantially higher than youtube even if the selection isn't quite the same. It's how I get my Daily Show fix every day. The only trouble is the money goes to Mark Cuban but it's a small price to pay.
I do a lot of international traveling as well. Although I don't use data nearly as much as some do, it is unbelievably nice to be able to pop in a SIM card for whatever country I'm in and make phone calls. Recently I bought a global SIM which gives me one telephone number allowing me to be reached anywhere. If Apple would allow their customers to have this kind of functionality they would have at least one more customer.
Not so much a pain, but it would be pretty cool to have pre-configured search criteria based on what kind of search I was doing. If I'm looking for tech help I'd have one set, news would have another, etc. It's a pipe dream I know.
There are some feature in Google's websearch that would be interesting to try and implement elsewhere. Getting results sorted by date is a pain. Filtering out websites would also be great, if I'm looking for an answer to an obscure tech question I don't want crap from ExpertsExchange popping up.
I used to have this discussion a lot with my roomate. Do people really want hi-def porn? I thought it was the next inevitable development, but now that I think about it, I'm not sure if people want to see every wrinkle, mole, and cesarean scar. But I wouldn't really know...I only watch them for the articles.
A few years ago I had a girlfriend (yes I know this is Slashdot) and she was blind. Her biggest complaint was that her reader was completely useless when presented with a site that used Flash for its navigation system. Looking around now I'm sure that matters have become even worse. Flash and Silverlight may have roles in the presentation of data, anything that proprietary and closed should never be used to create the core of a site.
And how exactly does curling fit into that? I mean I could probably place in a competition involving eating nachos whilst programming, that doesn't make it a legitimate athletic event. Same goes for the luge in the Winter games.
Actually every time you download a song not only are you contributing to terrorism, communism, and kitten killing, the Earth actually heats up by a fraction of a degree. By fighting piracy the G8 are actually fighting global warming.
My friends and I have lots of conversations about girls, how to get girls, how to please girls. However until anything other than idle talk actually happens this goes into the "wouldn't it be nice" category
I'm not sure if it's any help but I did my undergrad in CS and went on to archaeology for postgrad. There are a ton of fields out there clamoring for computer people for data collection and interpretation. Traditionally these fields don't attract tech people but that's slowly changing. I may not make as much as an engineer (in fact I'm positive I don't make as much) but I get to travel the world on the University's dime.

The only software I've paid for on my Treo 750 has been Opera. Everything else, VNC, Windows Remote Desktop, Putty, and countless others have been free. I can administer my entire system, either at work or at home from my phone. If gives you a sense of power kind of like the power God must feel when using a Treo.
I'm not so sure, currently Americans have the option to drill in Alaska. It is absolutely beautiful and pristine up there, but drilling would arguably have much less impact on human settlement than strip mining the Rockies or the Appalachians. Maybe I'm an optimist but I think this shows some consideration for environmental problems.
Over the horizon? Hell I'm flingin' poo now! It's very therapeutic You should see my monitor when there's a comment I don't agree with!
Thank heavens for the second amendment!

With the help of one helluva strong reality distortion field generator.
I'd say not working on Vista was a feature.

Oh no, here he goes again, next we'll have to hear about those damned trilobites on his lawn.

Very good question! I would be interested to know if there is a cap on the amount of long-term memory storage in the brain.
I don't normally reply to AC's...and today will be no different
