  1. this is a bad idea - where the Teotihuacan went on Yahoo's Time Capsule Project · · Score: 0
Oh great, Yahoo is doing it. That means I bet they won't be able to resist adding some ads into the "transmission" that they're sending, and I use that word loosely. You never know if those aliens want to meet sexy singles.

Archaeologists say a culture centred in Teotihuacan, known as the City of the Gods, dominated Mesoamerica for hundreds of years during the first millennium. It is unclear what led to the society's collapse.

hmmm, maybe they built a giant laser and beamed annoying ads into space so aliens came and obliterated everyone.

  3. they're already dying left and right on Will the iPod Ever Die? · · Score: 0

In case you didn't notice, Ipods die all the time. My friend that worked at Best Buy said there wasn't a single day that went by that 4-7 of them didn't get returned or brought in for RMAs because they broke. How can a product that breaks so much be so popular?! I hope they die for good soon.

  4. Nielsen numbers are BS anyway on Nielsen Ratings in the Age of the Internet · · Score: 0

oh trust me, they'll make up for the 10% and then some. Last I heard, if U add up all the supposed Nielsen stats for certain given times such as primetime television it adds up to way more people than even live in the US. Everyone adds on a little to make it look like more ppl are watching so they can get more money from advertising. And just think how much better TV would be if they used that time and effort to think of something more creative than 25 year old "teenagers" bitching at each other about how dramatic their life is and big city single women bitching about everything and acting like big stereotype machines.

  5. Starcraft ownz on Land of the Videogame Star · · Score: 0

I love Starcraft. I played it for several years and had about a 650-40 record and all I got was a bunch of people pissed off at a LAN party :( Btw I'm bringing it back for an upcoming LAN party at my college that I'm in charge of, lol. But I have to mention that more than 75% of people when I last played used a map hack to reveal the location of everyone on the map (me included) and almost all asian players racked up a huge record with dummy accounts and with cheating like rushing in a no rush game. I wonder how cheap these guys play in tournaments where people are actually watching and they can't use hacks.

  7. if you don't think that's bad on More In-Game Advertising on the Way · · Score: 0

In case you're one of those people that claims to not mind in game advertising, you have to think about the natural course of evolution for it. Anyone can write an always on top program that's just a big rectangle that covers annoying, distracting ad banners or hack a game so advertising skins don't load on 3D objects but picture this: you log on to WoW and start walking around and suddenly a strange looking character runs up to you with a Radio Shack logo on him saying "Can I help you find something?!" and then following you around until you log out. Yeah...you're against in game advertising now aren't ya?

  8. Re:well if they won't do it... on Billions of Planets In Milky Way? · · Score: 0

speaking of projects, we could create a bunch of giant explosions that spell out something. That would definitely get aliens' attention. Kinda makes you wonder why we haven't spotted any supernovas all going off at once in the shape of an alien smiley face, lol.

  9. well if they won't do it... on Billions of Planets In Milky Way? · · Score: 3, Funny

I think the best way to contact aliens and let them know we are here is to build a giant billboard about 10x bigger than the sun that says "Hey aliens, people live here" and park it right outside out solar system. That way when they're looking at us with their giant telescopes, they'd see it and know. I'm sure we could get pepsi to sponsor that billboard, they sponsor anything. As for us seeing other intelligent life, just watch for planets to spontaniously blow themselves up. I'm sure we'll almost do that a few times in the future looking at the past so logically some aliens have to do it.

  14. this study is a little iffy on Bloggers or High Schoolers, Where is the Literary Talent? · · Score: 0

okay, what about high schoolers that are bloggers? Technically they ruin the test because it's no longer a 1:1 comparison. Plus, it's not really fair unless you test high schoolers from everywhere in the US. One of my teachers pointed out one time that certain parts of the country are better and worse at different subjects. And then there's the whole who cares about grammar as long as you accurately get the point accross thing.

  19. why this strategy works on Good Agile — Development Without Deadlines · · Score: 0

It's really no surprise that "Release it when it works" works better than "release it by ____ and we'll patch it later." Patches were originally intended to update the program with new features or to make it compatabile with no technology, not to fix things that should have been ironed out during development. Most software companied have just become lazy and decided they want more money faster even if their product sucks.

Reading any other type of review that's completely opinionated one way or another just doesn't tell the full story. However, nothing beats game demos.
