well where were you? All my teachers, techtv when it was techtv, and most of my techie friends all have stated that ME was a quick release of what they had done so far on XP or 2000 or whatever and they released it because OS9 had just come out.

"AOL might be successful enough to break away from Time Warner" Okay that's total BS but still, YES! They need to get the hell off the backs of Time Warner. I'm sick of them wasting bandwidth that decent road runner connections could have used. I suspect I only get 4.5 megabits out of 5 because of them (still beats every other ISP ever) Now if they could just dump Adelphia and I think Comcast they own too, they'd be free to actually be a good business. One of my friends is currently trying to switch from Adelphia to Road Runner and they're actually fighting over who keeps the modem and can't seem to disconnect Adelphia at all. Why do they even offer like 5 different internet services when Road Runner blows them all away?

Speaking of that, I wonder how this post will be rated lol. Everything in the US is like this. Isn't this the way it is: If you vote independent you're a weirdo, if you're for the war in iraq you're a moron, and somehow if you're against the war in iraq you're an incompassionate jerk who thinks Sadam should still be leading iraq. Who cares, I'd just give away enough in-game currency to a charity (low lvl players lol) that I'd be tax exempt. Oh wait, the game I play is based in South Korea, never mind :)

I think you got the last 3 letters of truth wrong and spelled it troll ;) It's completely true unless the program is designed with 100% unbreakable foolproof security that you can't break even when U know exactly how it works, which ppl keep saying is impossible. Though to the other replier, the only 100% secure security isn't Fort Knox style where you just try to keep people out through mounds of security and say "now it's invincible." That's an expensive waste of resources. Think of how much easier it'd be if they hid the gold in a cave and just set traps and threw away the diagram saying where they all are. It looks like a clear path to what you want but then BAM you're caught in a trap. If they applied that idea to software security, it would be nearly perfect but they still would have to not see the source code. Even the best hacker in the world would fall for traps. I use a trap on my own web server with a fake, unlinked, free floating text file named "server_password" in a directory somewhere and purposely left directory listing enabled so effectively anyone who accesses that file had to have listed that directory, something no normal person would do because normal ppl don't just go poking around. I ban anyone's IP who accesses that file and you'd be surprised how many do per month. It's worked great so far. With this style, nobody would want to hack anything because they wouldn't know if the hole was left there as a trap or not.

    rewards: it's free

perils and pitfalls: you have to support it yourself and since it's horribly insecure since everyone can see the source code. There's no gaurauntee of tech support at all. I just spent about 10 hours manually patching my phpBB database up to the latest version after it got hacked because their patcher doesn't run on ipowerweb's servers, one of the largest hosts in the world. The time you'll spent with headaches using open source software is NOT worth the free pricetag.
