Hey man, not to rain on your parade, but take a closer look at Winston Churchill. That dude was anything but a hero of democracy and human rights.
Not that I disagree with anything else you said, but it's never a good idea to idolize history like that.
Ahhh yes... Gitmo, the bastion of human rights. Of course, the fact that many people with no connections to terrorism were kept there against their will doesn't outrage you at all...
Now if only it were legal in the USA to grow industrial hemp to make paper, we could let all the shitty monoculture plantations grow back into real forest and supply paper with a fraction of the land that it takes now.
Do you actually have any idea what an old-growth forest looks like and how an an old-growth forest ecosystem works?
Because if you did, you'd know that old growth forests have ecosystems that are far more diverse than monocultures.
Also, monocultures require far more energy to keep healthy(gasoline + foresters time + spraying) than mixed vegitation(none).
If dell keeps this up for any amount of time, we could see a large upswing in the usage of linux on the desktop.
Here's to this being more than a pipe dream.

More importantly, parents in Texas are required to have their daughters receive this vaccine? Or do I misunderstand the power of an executive order?
This is something that should be up to the parents or their daughters once they reach adulthood.
Maybe sweatshirt and canvas pants covered in linseed oil or something?
Add a gasmask to prevent ingestion, chemical gloves to prevent the chips from getting up into your sleeves, just blouse the pants and you'd be set.
Critiques?
Nice troll, but I'll bite anyway.
The problem isn't that the law targets sites like that, but that its scope is too broad. It would also apparently block access to legitimate sites like Wikipedia and weblogs. This is unacceptable, our government should never be allowed to expand its own powers with the promise that it will only use them for good. Doing so invites tyranny.
Only if by "remove myspace from the internet", you mean "bludgeon all myspace users to death with their ub3r-1227 LCD monitors that their parents purchased for them."
Mod parent funny
The least you could do would be to attribute this to http://www.xkcd.com/

Yeah but the Japanese had been doing dirty drawings for centuries. Jefferson on the other hand created the interracial genre.
...Jefferson was a hit with the ladies. Obviously his solution must be superior.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Not all geeks think that partying is evil... This is a topic that is quite relevant to young people these days.

Don't worry, we'll figure out a way to defeat these chips. Makeshift chem-warfare suits of some sort?
