Not quite the same. Defintely not anymore space efficient. Vast amounts of space can be saved because:
    1) People dont need to exit via the doors
    2) Cars can be literally bumper to bumper - no 'human error' factor.

Yep, cause people handing out leaflets in the streets, that's *never* been effective.
I don't know about in the past, but at least now (in Melbourne, Australia), it's extremely ineffective. People handing out pamphlets are completely shunned, all they do is block up the sidewalks.

For further proof, you should watch this video from 'The Chaser's War On Everything' (comedy show over here) - they go to busy areas with $20 notes, calling "Free money? Free money?" waving it in people's faces - everyone ignores them, says no, or tries extremely hard to avoid them.

Also, here's another video related to advertising from them which may give you all a laugh ;-).

MySpace included? If so, why? Based on the comments you've read on Slashdot?

I'm almost 18, and I use MySpace. For good, if you will. It's another way to keep in contact with friends (Hell, I don't think I've emailed a friend in ages, unless they dont have Myspace). It's a good way to meet new people (albeit, people your real friends can vouch for). On the other hand, my sister (almost 16) uses it to meet the wrong sort of people - so it depends on the person who uses it, really. Kind of like anything.

Reminds me of an Australian website about Tesla coils - I can't find the original picture that used to give everyone on the forums a laugh, but it was this Aussie guy standing in a shed with boxers and a pair of thongs on infront of a Tesla coil. This is the closest picture I can find to demonstrate what I mean.

To quote from the group's description:
I have long considered mother nature a precious and intimate friend. As stewards and stewardesses of this beautiful planet and all creatures that rely upon it for survival, we are entitled to the savory and delicious meals we call animals. In my opinion, the ethical treatment of an animal means killing it before you eat it. And I am all for the ethical treatment of animals. In that way, I am all for the eating of tasty animals.

I do similiar things. Sometimes without remembering doing it. I found in an older project the other day that the top of the file was marked simply "Still 12 days till the Wii :-(".

I've found other strange stuff too. In a project from a couple of years ago I'd used a close friends birthday as the read handle for several files. It's interesting, because anyone else who goes through it will be at a lose as to what I was talking about (for the most part - they'd understand the Wii business). I also get to see what I was like in the past, without becoming a whiney blogger who talks about every single detail of my life in excruiatingly boring detail.

I can't help but think it's more than a coincidence that most of the vegetarians and all of the vegans I know always look skinny and underfed, and seem to be allergic to lots of things. They also seem to be ill with something nearly all the time. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but vegans tend to have a particularly unhealthy pallor, a kind of pale shiny skin thing going on.
It could also be that they chose to be vegan because they were already sick quite a lot and found that meat didn't help their situation. I mean, I eat meat (I could REALLY go some bacon right now ;)), but I also have a strange digestive system that so far has failed to be fixed. If eating no meat would help, I'd probably give it a shot too. But, for now *goes to find some bacon*.
