We started homeschooling our daughter last yesr (3rd Grader). Our oldest son statred homeschool "kindergarten" this year. Our kids get 1hr of TV time or 1 hr of computer time (they love playing the flash games on nick.com et al), and they can get TV/computer time taken away as punishment (accompanied by wailing and gnashing of teeth)
For a screen reader <img src="/images/spacer.gif" alt=""> is much different than <img src="/images/spacer.gif">
It is possible to put an alt attribute that says this is nothing, leave it blank as in the first example above. in the second example, the screen reader has no way of knowing if the image is important or not.
It is somewhat analogous to a politician saying "No Comment!" as opposed to saying nothing at all.
Im not sure this is an accurate statement. Many of the people that remained in New Orleans probably did not have the means, both financial and physical, to evacuate. Many of them probably don't own vehicles or couln't afford to buy 2 or 3 tanks of gas in a single day travel somewhere safer. So, they stayed behind and did they best they could.
If your vendor does not supply a linux driver for your hardware, whose fault is that? It is not a problem with Linux. It is a problem with your hardware vendor. There arecompanies that supply linux drivers for their hardware. Hell, even Dell supplies linux drivers for some of their RAID controllers.
If your hardware manufacturer provided drivers for everything BUT Windows, would you complain about Microsoft or the hardware vendor?
a violation of Amendment V to the US Constitution.
from thomas.loc.gov "...nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb..." Same person, same offence, 2 times. Sounds like a clear cut violation to me. This guy's lawyer should be all over this.
Part of this problem is that different countries have different laws regarding spectrum usage. It is, presumably, MUCH [easier, simpler, cheaper] to create a single piece of hardware then localize the drivers for said hardware rather than building 200+ different cards, one for each county on the planet.
I think the reason most people here hate Fox is not because they are biased, but because they are biased in a different direction than the people complaining.
Do I think Fox News is biased? Sure I do. Do I think Fox is any more or less biased than every other media outlet? Not just no, but Hell No!
Only 9MB, you had it easy. Recently we had a girl send a 250MB attachment to everyone in the company. The bad part is we have Outlook's cached exchange mode turned on, so everyone had to get the 250MB file at the same time. Exchange was not happy. And our sales reps were calling ME to complain that they couldn't get their email.
or, rather, it would if I was in Kenai, Alaska instead of Carrollton, Texas. That is more than a wee bit off. According to MapQuest, Kenai is 4407.07 miles from me.
Then why can't a school reject someone because of the color of their skin, or because they are an "innie" instead of an "outie"? Why can't they reject people that like to have sex with people of the same sex?
Make sure you dial Ess-Oh-Ess NOT Ess-Zero-Ess. One is (or rather was) Apple's help line, the other was a phone sex line. Back in the bad old days I worked at Best Buy and routinely had to deal with customers complaining that we had told them to call a phone sex number.
I couldn't find a good place to put this comment, so I'll just jam it in here.
After reading about the American media ignoring this event, I did some web surfing. I checked cnn.com, foxnews.com, news.bbc.co.uk, cbc.ca and dw-world.de (Deutsche Welle). They all had something about the tsunami as the main headline on the page. One interesting thing I saw on DW's site was the difference in headlines between the German and English versions. The German headline was "Ausmaß der "Jarhundertkatastrophie" wird sichtbar" (roughly "Extent of the "Hundred Year Catastrophy" becomes visible") but the English headline was "Germany Doubles Aid to Tsunami Area". Why is there a difference?
+1 for homeschooling.

You know, the telephone. It's kinda like your cell phone but you have to plug it into the wall to make it work.

Perhaps you would like some leavening (like baking powder) to make it fluffy and perhaps a tasty liquid to hold it all together?
