    Political advertisements can be considered fraudulent at worst and spin at best. IMHO the only type of political advertising that should be done is live debate.

    This is not a good analogy. Changing a channel or turning a page changes the entertainment/information you were getting. The correct comparison would be to simply go to a different web page.

    This is terrible news. I'm sure he had insurance on everything. Even so, rebuilding all of the sets and characters would be a nightmare.

    I hope this doesn't keep them from maknig more Wallace and Gromit shorts/movies.

    I mean really. Right now, anyone can follow me around all day and see:

    - what my spending habits are like
    - what my diet is like
    - what my consumption rate is
    - what my interests are
    - what my personal timeline is like
    - samples of my dna
    - samples of my finger prints

    The point is, people don't do these things because it's not worth it. Now it is.

    Another form of fighting this, through dissent, would be to pick out all the CD's labeled as copy protected and take them up to to the service counter. Explain that you found them mixed in with the real CD's and thought you would help them out.

    How long would it take someone observing you to figure out what you were doing and swipe your wallet?

    Considering he said he has a perl script to generate the card randomly, I'm guessing he replaces it and changes his password, considerably increasing the security.

    Not my idea of great security.

    It would be more helpful if you offered your idea of great security rather than just bashing someone else's.

    Never tell me you NEED your job because of financial struggle... You made your bed, sleep in it.

    Yeah, because everyone grows up in great school districts, is able to go to a great college without racking up student loans, is able to get a great job in this wonderful job market we have, and has benefits that cover them if they get injured and have to spend 10's of thousands of dollars on medical bills.

    Obligatory for Slashdot: I won't leave out those that have bullshit litigation brought against them and have to pay out lawyer fees and possibly a settlement.

    Don't be so quick to judge. There are a lot more things that can cause financial hardship than what you've been through in your single lifetime.
