I'm posting this from Opera 10.........Slashdot looks very, very good.
Not for me it doesn't, it appears to be missing the curved endings on the green post heading bars (I'm sure there must be a proper term for them, but it escapes me at the moment), as if it's not rendering correctly.
Indeed, the current released version from opera.com is 9.64. The download from the linked Unite website is actually calling itself 'Opera 10 Beta Presto 2.2' when you go to install it.
No, really T-Mobile (whose parent company is Deutsche Telekom) from Germany. Vodafone (not 'Vodaphone') are a UK-based company and T-Mobile's biggest rival.
Here in the UK the EMV standard was only rolled out nationwide in 2004, and until that time all physical credit/debit card transactions used the magnetic strip, so it isn't too hard to believe that other countries are sitll using the magnetic strip.
I don't know how reliable it is, but this link mentions that Alexey Pajitnov didn't have anything to do with the making of Clockwerx, he simply "introduces" the game
Nowadays I just use the 'ftp' command in the shell no matter what operating system I'm using. Yeah, it's annoying to change directories both locally and remotely by hand (without even tab-complete!) but you know it sure beats being that guy that lost all his shit (and maybe some other people's) to something like this.
As you mentioned that you use Windows machines, why not just use Windows Explorer for FTP purposes?
Of what possible relevance to this story are the details of what he was buying (right down to make and type), the fact that they were out of stock, the fact that he queued to order one, or the fact that the queue was long?!
The last line of the summary gives the impression that the ability to record video is exclusive to the Android platform, something which is blatantly not true.
As a UK resident I find it marvelous that Her Majesty's Gutter Press are starting to blow other stories out of proportion, as it obviously means that they've run out of things to write about one or more of the following:
Care to elaborate on that, maybe give me a hint as to what's wrong?
You say "for once" as if we've gone down this path before, however I remember no previous incident.
'Full-back' refers to a wide defensive player in football - the second row on a foosball table features two full-backs and two centre-backs, and should be referred to as 'defence'.
'Half-back' refers to a position which isn't even used in football these days - the third row on a foosball table is simply 'midfield'.
It shouldn't even need to get to court. It sounds like the cruise ship's operators have admitted that they switched on their satellite system in error (disclaimer: I haven't RTFA), so surely a quiet mention to them that he intends on going to court and they'll pay the bill themselves....
One thing to question though: WTF didn't they guy notice that he was roaming, it's normally pretty damn obvious that the you're not on your normal network by the screen display!?
those must be the giant things that seem to have appeared on cans of Pepsi Max in the UK of late, I guessed it must be something like that but I couldn't see anything on the can telling me exactly what I'm supposed to do with it (and frankly I wasn't bothered anyway, I buy a can of Pepsi because I want something to mix with my Jameson, not because I want some kind of 'added value' content)....

We have the Ministry of Silly Walks

TFA doesn't appear to be mention or even hint at how many books have been scanned. TFA does, however, mention the patent number 7508978....
Is this the basis for the next George A. Romero film?

This story originally appeared on Ye Olde Slashdotte 112 years ago, although archive.org don't seem to have a copy of the original page....
I was about to say exactly the same, you beat me to it.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure that my Vista Business machine at work does re-open documents, websites etc after an auto-restart from Windows Updates
Fair comment, although 'Epic fail!' is a little harsh, I got the numbers wrong, but the point is still the same.

President Obama smokes crack?!!?!??!!?!
For most consumers here in the UK, 3G = G3 = 'oooooooooooh shiny'
During CES a group of overclocker's
a group of overclocker's what exactly? Is it just me or is the correct use of apostrophe's [sic] starting to become a lost art these days?
