True, but what about other ports and protocols? I'm talking jabber, ICQ, ssh, ftp, smtp, pop3, imap. Come to think of it, I want my damn token ring as well!
The design goal is to be able to present one image a second, and to enable facial recognition at 90% accuracy at a distance of 1 km. The scopes could be on the battlefield inside of 3 years."
Nothin' like sniping a long-range moving target with a full second of lag!
We recently had the same problem with long distance and have seriously considered shaw's VOIP. The ONLY reason we haven't done it yet is because you can't use a VOIP phone during a power outage.
Yes I know all new phones need power, and we keep an old rotary installed upstairs for just this reason.
If they ever make a VOIP converter that doesn't need a power brick, the Telus is toast in this house.
Now if you don't mind, I'm off to see if I can run my modem off battery power!:)
I did a similar thing. My bed always faces North, whenever I'm camping or something I always end up turning my body to face north as well, even if I haven't checked which way is north with a compass.
Oh, yeah, and FYI humans do have a small iron deposit in their nose that works as a compass, I'll be it a weak compass.
I take it "the planet" is Saturn or something? Unless you can get yours up and running before the original LHC, you're going to have to pick a different planet to destroy.
I see large ugly boxes all the time, they just happen to be owned by BC-Hydro.
But on a more serious note, the cable/phone/whatever boxes do exist up here, they are simple subterranean. They cut a hole (1' X 2' and 1' deep) and put a steel plate over it. Looks like a fancy storm drain with no holes.
Yet most elementary schools and high schools are 90% Mac based...
I think students should be exposed to all the current OS's they may encounter in the workplace (XP, Vista, Mac, Linux) during their schooling, not just what-ever the teachers are able to figure out.

Well actually, the flash is accessible. You may not be able to watch it run, but you can still download the swf, why you would want to no one knows.
Nice, didn't know they came with battery backup, I know my internet modem sure as hell doesn't!
Yes, I know, 120 for the comp, but that's what my laptop is for!

Newsflash: corporations shouldn't be able to do whatever the hell they want.
There, fixed that for you.

What's the worst that could happen, they get paralyzed?
~ducks~
How about airports? Ever tried getting an electrically powered metal exoskeleton through a metal detector?
... Sir, why are you sitting on the floor?
Sir, would you please remove any metal you have on your person?
That's what python is for!

From what I can tell they are using telescopes to watch batteries collide in orbit, then watch them with the totem media player.
This is why we need a "-1 Too Much Information"
You might want to make a trip to the clinic and get tested.

What, non of the open source communities are working on their own version of this? I mean, come on, we can make compiz-fusion, but not this?
If we put all the stupid people in jail, who would run the country?!?
I don't know, that's a lot of bloat for a .45
Anyone got any anti-tank rockets?
Wow, a Linux using, Windows advocate with a +5 Insightful...what is this world coming to?
So I'm assuming they had all the mail addresses in an excel sheet then?
You can right-click on it?!?
Up to $325,000 per infraction, I believe
So is that $325,000 for implementing fake packets or $325,000 per packet faked?
God, I hope it's the later...
As much as it would suck, I can see 2 positive outcomes from that:
;)
1) People actually USE the god-damn ant-virus software
2) Linux users can (truthfully) claim lower bandwidth bills
Win-Win, especially for us linux users
I believe this happened to "Kleenex".
