    I call shenanigans on your shenanigans on his shenanigans. Any true victim of Windows, will tell you the only way to be sure you've removed the crapware is with fresh install of another OS. Something the GP can do cause he can download one.

    From what I remember, the SSL vulnerability we saw a while ago was caused by a single excess comment mark (well, maybe two if it was a double forward slash

    I see your point, then then again it was an example. In fact, I do believe that the summary referred to the complainant as a "customer", which infers pretty strongly that some money HAD in fact changed hands at some point.

    I use Ubuntu on my laptop at College (BCIT) and whenever I have to print something, I just use OpenOffice Portable which I have on a USB key.

    For those that don't want to use up 80MB on their USB key, there is also AbiWord Portable at 6MB for text documents.

    PortableApps are invaluable if you need to use programs temporarily on windows machines.

    That's nothing, at my old high school, they used a windows (2003?) server for all the network files. They also had the entire network visible in windows explorer, you just couldn't get into other students/teachers accounts due to "privileges".

    I later found out however that the security policies were being enforced entirely on the CLIENT side. Yes, that's right, client side!

    I brought my laptop in one day, signed in with my normal credentials, used explorerXP (third party file browser) and BOOM! full read/write access to the ENTIRE network drive! :)

    4) used for enhancing the software for new features
    5) used for lining the wallets of local
    entrepreneurs.
    6) used to buy textbooks, etc.

    I have also seen ssh clients that allow you to run the same command simultaneously on a LIST of ssh servers. All you need is a good 4096bit SSL cert and "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y" and all is well.

    Ok, so the little toasters are gone, but big deal. I got this extension after reading the download squad article (yeah, they beat slashdot), and I haven't actually noticed anywheres that a toaster seems to be missing.

    Most things seem to show up right in the main window where you type things in, but if I'm missing something, I'd love to know what.

    Parallax has no real depth, but helps simulate the effect in the brain. Stereoscopy has no depth, but works just like the eyes to give the brain the data it needs to reconstruct the depth.

    I'm pretty sure it would be rather easy for a computer to do the same calculations to create a 3d image from them.

    In face, slashdot had an article a while back (to lazy to look for it) where they did this with video!
