    Topologi is the company.

Disclosure: In January 2007, Rick became embroiled in a controversy after mentioning in his XML.COM blog an approach from Microsoft for a several-day contract job to correct some Wikipedia entries from a neutral point of view, as an experienced technical writer with credible first-hand knowledge of standards and procedures. This was incorrectly reported as being a secret plot to subvert Wikipedia. With the support of many editors on Wikipedia, with complete transparency, and with care to respect the Wikipedia rules, Rick has started participating on the Wikipedia entries.

The company that is the co-owner of Topologi has a long-standing training business and will be providing some presenters for some Microsoft sponsored-events in 2007 in Australasia. It is highly likely that Rick will be one of the presenters on standards matters at some of these. link

Seems he has lots of involvement with MS.

Microsoft is moving toward what you said you wanted, having IE support more standards. Because this what they appear to be doing, not what they are really doing. The path of least resistance will still be creating non standards compliant pages that are tied to the Windows platform and that is what our complaints revolve around.

My option is Cable Only, Telstra or Optus and Optus doesn't allow you to run a server, PSTN or satellite have other problems.

Anyone that treats telstra's free downloads as a good selling point simply has no idea about other ISP's in Australia.
Well duh, it is Telstra making the claims.

The point is that Telstra said that we don't need lots of bandwidth as we can download large files *on request* from the free download area and now they are attempting to restrict what can be downloaded. Thus they have reduced the value of their service.

ADSL isn't everywhere you know, some of us have no choice in the matter.

People should note that the "free" download area provided by Telstra is a selling point of their service and is often used as a defense for their high usage charges, if it is now only Telstra sanctioned files that can be downloaded they have degraded the service without notification.
