MongoDB would have been perfect based on the structure of the data, but the client didn't want to pay for setup and hosting costs, DynamoDB was the cheaper alternative, but more of a pain in the ass to implement. Makes we wonder if the hosting cost savings offset the additional development time.
Best exchange of the entire series was in Episode 20 when the doc showed up:
Doc: I'm a pacifist. Caboose: You're a thing that babies suck on? Tucker: No dude, that's a pedophile. Church: Tucker, I think he means a pacifier. Tucker: Oh yeah, right. I was totally thinking about something else.
Mine first cmputer was an Atari 400 that my dad bought in 1981. He could do programming on it, and I could play video games (Star Raiders was the sh!t). I wrote my forst program in BASIC that year too.
10 PRINT HI 20 GOTO 10
I can still hear the screech of loading programs off of cassette tape.....good times.....
Once again, Bill and Steve are going to try to play catch up and use their dominance to position yet another product they've bought and repackaged. I can only imagine the conversation in Bill's office:
Bill: "Steve, these viruses are killing us...." Steve: "I know...hey we should find a way to make some money off of this!" Bill: "Brilliant! We should buy up some anti-virus program no one's heard of and repackage it!" Steve: "Brilliant!"
That's because drupal has their own development infrastructure and does not use sourceforge's services. Just because a project isn't hosted on sourceforge doesn't mean its not relevant. I switched to drupal from Post-Nuke about 6 months ago and will never go back.
For some reason, I've got a bad feeling that this is just all one big scheme and that M$ is going to purposely make linux run horribly under Virtual Server (ala their antitrust antics of old) so they can now have a shining example for the uninformed of how muc better Windows is than linux....
at least he had some initiative to get off his ass and create an open source implementation of something proprietary. i had been wanting to run a social network for a particular niche group and extend some of the basic stuff you can do in friendster. now i can do that....

It doesn't matter what languages you learn while you are in school, its the programing concepts and logic you gain while learning those languages that are valuable. Learning a new language isn't that hard once you have the basic concepts behind fundamental programming. We were taught C++ in our intro courses, but all of our later courses required us to do projects in C or Java. I haven't used C or C++ once since graduating and have learned 5-6 other languages in the 2 years I've been out.

they're still on the old box genius. The new boxen have been ordered and the new Sun box that was donated by a drupal user at Sun is already there.
Jesus, you'd think some people would take the time to actually READ a little bit.....

now where's that tinfoil hat....
why has no one mentioned Red vs Blue?
Even for the layperson, its hilarious.
last time i checked:
anything * 0 = 0
maybe they are just going to charge their UnixWare customers an extra $1400 when they bundle in the 'Linux IP' license

If you were paying attention, dummy, this is being developed in KOREA, so I believe the "chicken scratch" you are referring to is Korean.....
