That console was already produced. It was the N64; but the fog never actually came out of the machine, it was just displayed on the screen.. In just about every game.
They actually ARE that dumb. It has been widely reported that the open license structure for corporations will now require activations and seperate keys for each install.
There's nothing like pissing off a bunch of tech heads to drive your product out of favor.
I love mine. Golf is the best on Wii sports, and Zelda is fun and interesting. You can tell the graphics aren't on par with 360, but it really doesn't matter. The controller usage is amazing. Even little stuff that I didn't care about like the Mii channel kept me busy for an hour or so creating characters. My 4 yr. old loved that we made a "little him" and that he could play all the sports games using the "him" we created. I've collected games for 20 years, and this system is exactly what gaming needed. It's different, and it's fun.
It will more than likely be just "punch-out". Nintendo remade the title after it's contract with Tyson expired and replaced him in the game. That will be the version we'll see.
From Wikipedia: In 1990, towards the end of the NES's run, the game was re-released as Punch-Out!!, with the Tyson character replaced by Mr. Dream. Mr. Dream fought in the same fashion as Tyson, but had cosmetic changes to his face and skin color. It is widely believed that Tyson was removed because of his troubles with the law; however, he was removed due to the fact that his contract with Nintendo had expired and was not renewed.
"Wii is well just lame"
"Xbox360 is from M$ nuff said"
Can you please expand on your thoughts? I don't see how the Wii would be considered 'just lame' or how the 360 suffers the horrible affliction of having one of the world's most successful companies behind it.
You sound like a Sony fanboi, but seriously, I do want to know if you can justify your feelings on the matter, or if it's just blind devotion.
And when Sony says a 10 year life cycle, I don't buy it for a second. Even if they feel it could compete for 10 years, do you think they are going to allow themselves to be percieved as 'skipping' a console generation?
Although it would give them remarkable clout in the future, chances of it happening are next to nothing.
Hell, I'd pay $600 if they could promise me it wouldn't break within 10 years.
Yeah, exactly how Sega allowed the Dreamcast to be thought of as 'last generation' when the PS2 arrived is beyond me.
I'm proud to say though, I still own mine, and about 40 very fine titles.
You can't grade something that hasn't been released. The Dreamcast was an awesome system before game support for it tanked. How would you have graded it before, and after?
It was the first game to take a platformer and convince you to actually care what happens in the game. I.. I just couldn't let that little guy become meat.. could I?
So I says to the insurance salesman, I says, how much coverage do YOU think I should buy? It's always best to get the answers from the experts. Always.
If the blog is posted by Sony employees, is that really such a tremendous breach of trust? I mean, it pretending not to be a Sony employee could be seen as underhanded, but people are just people, no matter who they work for. So, while it may be a Sony PR machine trying to get under the public subconscious, it could just as easily be a Sony engineer that wants to get right to the point and find out people like/don't like about a product he/she is developing.
In this day and age, it is best to assume that any blogger has an agenda. Regardless of that agenda, you are reading THEIR BLOG, so you have to assume responsibility for scrutinizing what you read.
I think it has a lot to do with being comfortable with your own play style. If you want to be a casual player that goes and does some quests, and that is enjoyable for you, then you can just regulate yourself to doing that. There are plenty of guilds that have the "brutes of playtime" that have all the gear and levels to help you out/keep you safe. If you can be comfortable having fun, and not get wrapped up in the competition of getting bigger/stronger/faster/better, it can be very entertaining to just explore these games a bit, and put them down once you finish a few (dozen) quests.
And that... is easier said than done.. (but possible)!
Cut scenes have become so bloated and overused, that I no longer look forward to them.
Think about that.. when they first were introduced, they were awesome, but now they are not so awesome. The biggest culprit in my mind is Square-Enix. Valkyrie Profile 2 was very entertaining, but the cutscenes were miserable. They were slow, hard to watch, and every one of them began with an "artful" panning from some beautiful landscape that was meant to make you say "wow", but pretty much left me gnashing my teeth. As much as I did not want to watch them, I aslo did not want to miss any story components.
I've held the fear for years that Microsoft would release an OS with a nice little "All your base are belong to us" slipped in, and next thing you know, they have some rediculous claim over you and your stuff, and you agreed to it!
The lapboards were easily the best part of the Phantom system. Having tried it at E3, I can say that the system was woefully underpowered, but the lapboard was actually pretty cool. Nice to see this technology isn't going to just fade away into the patent vortex.
Wherever you have the opportunity to make money, you have the likelihood of those that will do anything to be the people to capitalize on it. I doubt they will start jamming transmission, but that being said, I wouldn't put it past them either.
I personally bought 3 psone systems and 3 PStwo systems. I will not buy a PS3 because -=I don't trust them to stay functional!=-.
If I do buy one at 4-500 dollars down the road, and it breaks out of warranty, I'm not going to buy another, for half a grand.
So yeah, they sold 100 million of each, but I bet they only have 40-50 million customers, many of which got burned, and spending 600 bucks on something that might break is a great deal scarier than dropping 250-300.
That console was already produced. It was the N64; but the fog never actually came out of the machine, it was just displayed on the screen.. In just about every game.
It could happen. I'm going to a Surgeon on Friday that was trained by playing Trauma Center. His alley looks really clean and everything.

'surpassed the 10 billion mark..' perhaps.. it was 10.3 billion?

Return Fire: 3do/psx Power Stone (1&2): Dreamcast
I think it's a good move. Anytime I see something on TV that I want, and I can't get it, it just irritates me. Saves me a lot of money too.

Your comments make a good point.

You forgot about repackaging the press release in a witty header. That's so basic man!

And it's already been recreated, as PAX. E3 was never for the public anyway, as much as everyone likes to think it was. (Even the promoters)

There is no X in the Japanese language. Therefore the Japanese will continue to view the Xbox as a myth.
These guys can jockey for position all they want, I'm holding out for the Okama Gamesphere.
