OK, I like going to Vegas once a decade and wearing a nice shirt. And who wouldn't want to be a rich actor?
Favreau wrote, directed, produced, and starred in Swingers in 1996. I still enjoy it, people wanting everything but just doing regular stuff because they don't know what to do (or it's not possible).
Getting nostalgic, around that time (a bit before), Floundering came out, a movie I have watched quite a few times, showed it to my future wife about a week into dating (couple of decades in so far): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt01...
Weird perspective on post-Los Angeles riot days and the purpose of life.
Netflix is changing the "interest dynamic" (plot speed).
About 50% of Walking Dead episodes are filler, pushing commercials, not plot. I won't comment on show timing or season length (Netflix understands this perfectly).
HBO seems to do this as well with Game of Thrones. I'm not sure why.
But Netflix shows like Stranger Things and Luke Cage, move the plot along a lot every single episode. It's simply better entertainment.
And yeah, studios are waking up but Netflix is spending more than any of them on original content.
But they still have recent stuff by other production companies (for now), Rouge One, Moana (kids), Planet Earth 2 (this is recommended to me because I watched Stranger Things...), American Horror Story, etc.
Disney's service will be successful, because... kids. But Netflix will win, they show the Human Centipede and Phineas and Ferb (for kids). The whole gamut.
And offline download is freaking awesome! I don't pirate anymore.
I'm too honest, too old, and too lazy to have a mistress.
Unless you were referring to small racing drones, then I'm busted (Banggood adverts follow the missus, but she knows about them because I send the stuff to her office...).
I'm really tired of the "I just bought that" ads. And then, since we share an Amazon account, my wife sees the surprise I purchased for her advertised to her...
And it can make many things other than breakfast. And those pancakes I described, they can be the bread (which is awesome).
You are correct though, if we are having proper dinner (grilling some steak/burgers/chicken) and fresh vegetables, an hour is the minimum (with 2 kids it's close to 90 minutes not including cleanup).
Movies: I like horror. * The Babysitter was the most fun movie I've seen since Evil Dead 2 (Satanism!!!). * Death Note should have been rated R as it was too creepy. * 1922 was messed up (a son helps his father murder the mother).
TV shows: Ozark, Stranger Things, Narcos, those are the ones I've liked the best.
And offline download which I use a lot, all of their original stuff is portable.
The actuaries have the database team do a sort of cartesian product across a bunch of data (location, distance to work, type of vehicle, age (of driver and vehicle), driving/ticket history, income, apparently email address, etc.) to look for patterns.
I could easily see over 100 variables going into pricing.
I have studio headphones (Audio Technica) with 1/4 inch jack that I convert to 3.5mm for travel. I will always have a computer (Alienware 17, sucks for travel but my only computer) and phone that supports this. I don't mind the excessively long cord either (16 feet, 5+ meteres).
The market will provide, or I'll just go back to Nexus 5 phones (we've had 7 so far as they break rather easily). Swappa FTW!
The actual story here is around products people will or will not purchase. As long as it's not Sony, I'm not brand observant. No Sony product will enter my house.
For the record, I'm on a Blu low end phone, good headphone jack and BT music transfer. Otherwise it's just a phone that costs about $100. If the Chinese want to track my communications about groceries and child care arrangements I'm cool with that.
Anything important is done face to face or via physical mail. We still get all bills via mail (email addresses can change, our address doesn't).
I know flying in the US sucks, but it was actually fun back in the 1990s.
Where else does flying suck? Everywhere now? Leaving Korea a few years ago was pleasant. Massive plane.
I do know one place where it is fun to fly. From the Galapagos Islands, heading back to Ecuador. I got to kick back with some beers while watching the slowest pit crew ever manually change a flat tire on our plane (737). It took so long that security left and we had full run of the entire airport (move from the entrance to secure areas at will, including an area of the tarmac to watch). It was tourists, locals, and the bar keeps.
Of course Galapagos is a niche situation, I can't recommend a cruise trip there more.

Do you think the first autonomous cars will be low end models?
This is a feature that it says will be limited to the Maybach line of vehicles.
They start at $160,000 USD.
They have to find new features to add in order to keep the cars attractive to prospective buyers.
And they have to do this year after year to make existing customers interested as well.
There was a great new X-Files episode about this. No spoilers, but it reimagined quite a bit and it was hilarious.
Info, with spoilers:

I've always thought that "Through the Wormhole" was conceived as a dare to get Morgan Freeman to say bat-shit crazy stuff.
And they were massively successful.
He is awesome of course.
SATAN!!

The end of days, somehow as a result of lawyers (not a surprise) and diversity (didn't see that coming), will be upon us shortly.
This is a great read for a Monday morning, along with Russian doping and curling. Didn't see that coming either.
Honestly making suggestions.
Get a griddle and then make tablespoon pancakes (3-4 inches), they freeze well and heat well in the microwave.
Then there is this little miracle that we discovered last year, a breakfast sandwich maker:

Netflix is more about original content at this point.

I think they turned 26...
Not as much to avoid as common noises, which might cause heart disease...

Fucking A, that was awesome!

For the record, actuarial education.
ISS is too close to ISIS, and therefore, should not be funded.

They are being watched as well.
SMight be interesting if it used moderation to weight inputs.
Nothing below +3, with some sort of categorization by moderation type (Funny, Insightful, etc.).
Let one of these systems process 10 years of Slashdot comments, see what comes out.
Better yet, time limit response inputs for test questions.

There's more to Facebook than the birthday reminder emails?
They will rape the corpse AND then let it rot.
So both.
