You have to close the ad [Google asking you why without any option to say "it screws my scrolling" so I go for "ad blocks content"] and finally you can read the tread...until next time you open new window where yet another banner pops-up. It is not a matter of who serves the banner though; thus all the above exercise in closing ads and notifying Google is futile.... speaking of which the message from the powers to be is clear - "resistance is futile". Gosh I hate the Borg and the Vogons but it seems the upper echelon of society is full of those....
I really, really want to upgrade my PC [7 years old with small upgrades - video mostly along the way] or buy completely new kit, but what operational system to run? Install Win7 again? What an absurd idea - make the worst and most destructive qualities of humans the most rewarded in the system [greed!], thus creating evolutionary pressure for all of us to become more and more sociopathic [i.e. successful] and then start pushing against the inevitable outcome.
Why don't we change the system so that it encourages and promotes human survival, procreation and happiness rather than greed and criminal wasting of resources. However, I simply cannot discount my own experience here - when you get cured [by fermented foods and some probiotics] within few months after suffering for 7 years [ and now 3 years later without probiotics, just good diet and some fermented foods] and being given every possible "medically approved and tested" treatment I can only say "figure out the science instead of blatantly disregarding so many successfully treatments".
I mean, nobody disputes the importance of the little monsters in our guts [even here we get 1 story per month about it; check the TED talks too, etc.]. But we don't know everything there....OK one thing we DO know is that the food of today is sterilized. So where do you get the bugs from if due to illness or antibiotic they are decimated? From the appendix, says the latest research - but many people have that one removed [BTW, here is another "approved scientific fact" - that the appendix has no useful function - that turned out to be quite wrong!]. Many bugs would come from the air but some can be found ONLY in non-sterilized food.
But it gest worse - not only is the food sterilized but in a green house environment [alas, not only] the bugs are missing from the "soil" itself...guess what, many minerals we get from food are present in the plant because those microorganisms in the soil put them there....
What I see here is the perfect scam that always results when things are left in the hands of "money". We deprive our food from beneficial microorganisms and minerals and instead we manufacture those as pills and sell them for top buck WITHOUT having good understanding about how those things are assimilated by the body. Will probiotic deliver the bugs in the large intestine - most of the time the answer is NO! Same with the milti-vitamin pills and mineral pills - this way of assimilating is not what the body is used to and many times the delivery mechanism fails. I mean, if it was that easy, why don't we feed ourselves directly with glucose - after all the nutrients end up in the blood stream as sugar. Bypass the whole thing - feed yourself directly with sugar and vitamins and see what that would do. But no - it does not work....you need the food, all of it - the plants, the meat, the fish, diary and so on....you need the bugs in the food and the minerals.
Only humans are so stupid as to try replacing the excellent, optimized, perfectly evolved and adapted way of living and interacting of our bodies with the environment with artificial, engineering constructions. Like the idiots that want to build a mirror in space [or create clouds with ships, or created nuclear winter by dispersing sulphur in the air] to deflect sun light instead of lowering the bloody green house emissions!

But today the availability and types of food are very different from the past. You cannot trust your body to stop you over eating sugar, salt and fat as an example. Those things are very, very tasty - why - because they were scarce in the past and you'd better stuff yourself while you can [salt and sugar being an extreme case - it was rare enough so we derive the words salary and soldier from the word for salt]. Today, however the next portion super caloric food is available every day and every hour...thus my diet adviser [she cured me from long years of suffering and every advice she gave me worked superbly - so I trust her] says that "tasty usually means healthy but not always; for vegetables it works very well - bland taste there means less minerals and nutrients".
In the Netherlands the new system is - you take your own hand-held scanner, go to the e.g. avocadoes, put say 5 in the basket, scan the price-label [you need only one per type of good] and you are done. No need to spend money laser etching the bar code on every fruit. Plus, no need for cashier. After the system was implemented I never looked back....funnily enough most people still prefer the interaction with the human - often I see long lines at the cashiers while the self-scanning machines stand idle...

This behavior - males compete and the winners take all - is as old as multi-cellurar organisms that procreate sexually. 800 million years or so...
You give the impression that today the world is different somehow. Well, we still struggle for life, procreation and happiness, don't we? And we have that system where a thing called " money" - if you have it in great quantities - you live longer and are healthier and the prospects of your offspring are better and.......you get to fuck and choose your woman among much greater pool. And you get this money thing by competing with others.
And the women, for whatever "strange" reason still prefer the top 20% men - from dick size to wallet size.
Even if you remove completely the economy factor by say achieving Star Trek utopia, women will still go for winners only [the smartest,the starship captain, the biggest dick, whatever is beneficial/desirable in that utopia] and the sexual selection will FOREVER drive males to compete.
Message from the women to men: be ashamed from what we made of you! You, our creation, selected sexually to be a winner, brought up by your mother to be a winner [did you forget that all of us are influenced the most by our mothers -after all they married that competitive male - your dad], you are wrong, we don't need you and we don't want you.

Can anyone seriously explain to me why exactly is that "white guys are still have more power and prestige in society than anyone else"?
Maybe because....I don't know.....we build the modern civilization and the richest, fairest and most powerful societies in the world are those that white people built. I find it hilarious when white women say to white men "give up your power". Are those white women [the most privileged group of common people on Earth] willing to live in societies ruled by black men, Asian, men, Latin American men etc. Are they really? Where are the visa applications for Mongolia then? I mean the most privileged group on Earth vilifies and despises the very group [white men] that build the society in which they are privileged.....sure it was not a smooth ride but common......
Seriously though most women [even the white] are not supporting this insane and grossly unjust vilification. No, I hear from many, for example, Dutch women saying "Dutch men are the best". I hear from all eastern European women that white guys are the best. I hear from Asian women that white guys are fantastic, helpful gentlemen that respect women! I hear it from Latin American chicks. I never heard it from black women, though that may be because I have hardly spoken with a black woman on that subject...
And yes, I also do not really like to watch movies where 50% of the protagonists are from some minority represented by 1% in society. Especially when the PC is shoved for the sake of PC and actually degrades the artistic quality of the film.

Yogurt that has no live bacteria inside is a simple protein shake, so why would you buy it in the first place - get the shake instead! My apologies to all you reasonable /. readers and writers; I am well aware that "official medicine" has not figured out the GI tract yet. However, I simply cannot discount my own experience here - when you get cured [by fermented foods and some probiotics] within few months after suffering for 7 years [ and now 3 years later without probiotics, just good diet and some fermented foods] and being given every possible "medically approved and tested" treatment I can only say "figure out the science instead of blatantly disregarding so many successfully treatments".
I mean, nobody disputes the importance of the little monsters in our guts [even here we get 1 story per month about it; check the TED talks too, etc.]. But we don't know everything there....OK one thing we DO know is that the food of today is sterilized. So where do you get the bugs from if due to illness or antibiotic they are decimated? From the appendix, says the latest research - but many people have that one removed [BTW, here is another "approved scientific fact" - that the appendix has no useful function - that turned out to be quite wrong!]. Many bugs would come from the air but some can be found ONLY in non-sterilized food.
But it gest worse - not only is the food sterilized but in a green house environment [alas, not only] the bugs are missing from the "soil" itself...guess what, many minerals we get from food are present in the plant because those microorganisms in the soil put them there....
What I see here is the perfect scam that always results when things are left in the hands of "money". We deprive our food from beneficial microorganisms and minerals and instead we manufacture those as pills and sell them for top buck WITHOUT having good understanding about how those things are assimilated by the body. Will probiotic deliver the bugs in the large intestine - most of the time the answer is NO! Same with the milti-vitamin pills and mineral pills - this way of assimilating is not what the body is used to and many times the delivery mechanism fails. I mean, if it was that easy, why don't we feed ourselves directly with glucose - after all the nutrients end up in the blood stream as sugar. Bypass the whole thing - feed yourself directly with sugar and vitamins and see what that would do. But no - it does not work....you need the food, all of it - the plants, the meat, the fish, diary and so on....you need the bugs in the food and the minerals.
Only humans are so stupid as to try replacing the excellent, optimized, perfectly evolved and adapted way of living and interacting of our bodies with the environment with artificial, engineering constructions. Like the idiots that want to build a mirror in space [or create clouds with ships, or created nuclear winter by dispersing sulphur in the air] to deflect sun light instead of lowering the bloody green house emissions!
Bottom line: probiotics are largely a scam due to failed delivery mechanism not because the bugs do not help! Fermented foods are not scam and they do help, period!
Remember - the fact that carbon trading is a scam does not mean there is no global warming! Do not throw the baby with the water!
Well, I am not disagreeing in general but it seems that the body is not always right either. For one, you have plenty of folks that eat too much and they are hungry so listening to your body is not the best for them [see Supersize me for details].
Another point is that our eating/drinking preferences are still dictated by what our bodies learned while we lived in tribes, actually all the way back when we were apes and even further back. But today the availability and types of food are very different from the past. You cannot trust your body to stop you over eating sugar, salt and fat as an example. Those things are very, very tasty - why - because they were scarce in the past and you'd better stuff yourself while you can [salt and sugar being an extreme case - it was rare enough so we derive the words salary and soldier from the word for salt]. Today, however the next portion super caloric food is available every day and every hour...thus my diet adviser [she cured me from long years of suffering and every advice she gave me worked superbly - so I trust her] says that "tasty usually means healthy but not always; for vegetables it works very well - bland taste there means less minerals and nutrients".
Have you heard the expression " a bunch of mindless jerks who will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes" ? Google it.

In the Netherlands the new system is - you take your own hand-held scanner, go to the e.g. avocadoes, put say 5 in the basket, scan the price-label [you need only one per type of good] and you are done. No need to spend money laser etching the bar code on every fruit. Plus, no need for cashier. After the system was implemented I never looked back....funnily enough most people still prefer the interaction with the human - often I see long lines at the cashiers while the self-scanning machines stand idle...
Yes! I don't game anymore but when I did, moding was crucial.
