The article refers to the Star Wars Galaxies updates as minor fixes and modifications that made players happier and expanded the player base. A simple check would have shown that after every major overhaul, experienced players left in droves and were replaced by noobs. Then to top it off it touts adding creature handling as a new feature (neglecting to add that it had existed long before, but they removed it). Surprising that SOE finally admitted maybe people liked raising animals, and put a feature people wanted in a game.
Yes, I rant, but being an avid fan of SWG before the Combat Upgrade, I can tell you that SWG is no longer the game it was. And then it was beaten while it was down with the New Game Experience which turned it into an action game instead of an RPG. Poor SOE, if you want to release a new RPG, do it. Don't replace what people were playing with something else, ESPECIALLY if they are paying a subscription.
HAHAHA, like we believe that. Let me give you a slashdot translation lesson:
Post says, "I recently got a girlfriend". Post means "I recently found a porn magazine". Post says, "I was about to start an open source project". Post means "I was using an open source program and I thought it was decent so I considered writing a MAN page for it".
Lesson 1 completed. Tomorrow's lesson, how to talk to a n00b.
Correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am), but can't you just tie the dead guy's foot the the back of the craft and drag him back to earth with you? Space should theoretically freeze dry him and somewhat preserve his remains until he could be loaded back into the craft for re-entry. The only problem you have to worry about is make sure he isn't floating outside the window, or floating behind the rocket exhaust.
Is it just possible that the top 10% of students, after spending 4-5 years studying a field, might actually be more qualified than a high school graduate? It IS possible, but realistically, grades are pretty much meaningless. I basically do nothing in college (no studying, no homework unless it's graded, etc) and still get A's. It's because I am very good at test taking. So someone who works their ass off to get a B is considered less qualified?
You also need to note that grades can vary greatly by the teacher. Some teachers curve, which encourages laziness, while other teachers have biases that reflect in grades. You can't tell me you've never had a teacher that you've argued grades with. Einstein and Edison didn't exactly excel in school either, and it's because school is designed to cater to the mediocre, and the smartest students often don't care.
I had the freezing problem too for awhile. After searching in the forums, it has to do with multi-core CPU support. Since I have a single core processor, disabling multi-core processing fixed the problem for me. I forget where the config file is, and I can't seem to find or remember the forum post that had the solution. If I do, I'll let you know.
First of all, Fiesty IS Ubuntu 7.04, not required for it. They are one and the same thing.
Second of all, Beryl works great for me, doesn't crash, and doesn't interfere with anything.
Finally, I'd like to point out that Fiesty is the greatest thing that happened to my laptop. It finally convinced me to get rid of Windows altogether, because finally S3 suspend works correctly, along with all my other hardware.
Can you give some examples? The only ones I can think of are ones Microsoft artificially limits (such as Windows Media Player beyond 9, and IE 7). Everything else I have runs fine on Windows 2000. The only reason I run XP at all is on my 64 bit systems, but only because there isn't Windows 2000 x64.
I live in Findlay, and I downloaded about 800 songs from Ruckus in the past 2 days. I download Linux distros all the time, and I constantly watch YouTube. I have never heard Time Warner complain. If there is a limit, if I can't reach it, no one can.
Ford can't sue Chevy... Chevy isn't a company, it's a brand. Ford would sue General Motors.
I think HALO beats Donkey Kong... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0Kg-lA4R6E
Where is the "-1 Disgusting" mod? I can't seem to find it...
Off topic, I know... But I agree about the plastic brick on wheels. Also, throw in the Honda Element into the trash heap.
No kidding. It's like Sony beating you up and taking your lunch, and then trying to sell it back to you.
I definitely agree. Starcraft=Best...Game...EVER!

Teabagging after a good round of pwnage will be illegal now.
Who thought up this category? How is Pidgin IT?
A simple wrong would have worked, but okay...
I wish I had mod points. I somehow doubt that wind turbines will stop a semi going 70mph from crashing into oncoming traffic.
Note: While I respect your insightful comment, they are CONCRETE barriers not cement. Calling concrete cement is like calling a cake flour.

Oh come on, this is Slashdot! You've never gotten your tongue within 5 feet of a woman without getting slapped.
OSU might have a large CS department, but bear in mind Ohio University is NOT the same as Ohio State University. (OU=!OSU)
In soviet ICANN, domains register you!
Step 5: ???
Step 6: Profit!

How about Starcraft II? I've been waiting for like 10 years now!

Could???? I think the article meant "HAS". I just want a Wii, is that too much to ask for?
