Actually World of Warcraft has been available on OS X since launch, and Aspyr is likely going to port Battle Field 2 as it has already ported the bulk of the Battlefield 1942 series.
Thin Clients definately aren't a panacea, and there are certain families of applications that I would hesitate to make available in that fashion.
Personally I wouldn't even have considered trying to run Photoshop or Matlab because they are known to be such resource pigs.
However, I've used and administered successful medium (>300 users) Citrix Metaframe installs before, running MS Office, web browsers, custom corporate applications.
So they have their place definately, but running heavy graphical applications aren't one of them.
actually i whipped up a quick python script to split "Eastern Standard Tribe" into 4k chunks with links to the next / previous pages at the top and bottom of each chunk to read it on my iPod.
it's clunky but it's great for reading on mass transit while i'm on my way to work.
This is generally described as a "Cost of Acquisition". Which is why you generally get locked into a contract that is priced to pay off the handset and make the wireless provider some cash before the contract lapses.
I know i'll get marked redundant on this one, but it is you who should reread the article, as the article states
The makers of the bestselling video game Grand Theft Auto are being sued for more than 60m after two teenagers said they were copying its violent scenes when they killed a man.
then farther down it states
The $100m legal action involves Joshua Buckner, 14, and his stepbrother William, 16, from Newport, Tennessee, who shot dead Aaron Hamel, 45, and seriously injured Kimberly Bede, 19, on 25 June.
near the end of the article
Miss Bede and the family of Aaron Hamel planto sue Take-Two Interactive Software, which publishes Grand Theft Auto, for liability in a wrongful death lawsuit.
the victim(s) families PLAN to sue, in a seperate suit apparently.

Tennessee has no Child Access Prevention (CAP) Law and has no Trigger Lock Law.
So first off the parents of these kids basically are under no liability for the apparent availability and possibly unsafe storage of their weapons. Yet they have the gall to blame this tragedy on a game clearly marked for adults, which they most likely purchased for their kids.
Don't even get me started on their lack of responsibility as parents to at least be aware of what their child is watching on television or playing on a game console.
I was tinkering with an old machine used as a webserver a while back and converted its power button to a key start (just soldered a cheapie $2 momentary key switch to the leads)
I had just moved into a new place which had radiators for heating, so static electricity became a problem during the winter months (as I found out).
about a week after I had installed the switch I went to go power on the webserver after a black out, and got the key within about 3 inches of the lock. At which point a bolt of Static electricity jumped from my finger/and key to the lock and the machine powered up with out even putting the key in the switch.
It became a bit of a game at that point, because we weren't concerned with the old hardware dying, as to how far away we could turn the pc on by scuffing our socks on the carpet first:P
Windows PowerS hell
I knew it all along!
FYI Bombardier is a Canadian Company http://www.canadianheritage.org/enterprises/bombar dier/

So the theme I'm sensing is ignorance.
Thanks for playing!

VirtuaWin actually does a really good job of handling mousewarp style and keyboard controlled virtual screens in windows.
disclaimer: i made an icon set for them once, but otherwise i ain't biased.

This isn't a shortcoming of the iPod / iTunes, it's a shortcoming of your improperly id3 tagged music collection.
if you took the time to rip / download 200gb of music over the years, what is a few minutes per disc spent on making sure the id3 tags are correct.
fair enough, after googling some more, I've found other accounts that aren't as confused.
/wink
but we're hard-headedly arguing about reading this farkin article.
nothing to see here move along

I'm actually working on a complete new theme for Freevo a Screeny of the main menu can be seen here
I'm currently using Freevo (listed from your freshmeat link) and it's very easy to use.
The male is however capable of 100mbit or 1gigabit bursts. ;)
I've had a good experience using
Auto-accept utilities it even keeps an audit trail and it's free
There are companies doing this already. below are a few examples This one is Mac-ish looking and these could pass for stereo components. One Two Three
check this one out, it looks quite like a hi-fi component
5fame makes an LED pulser thats kind of cool, although you could make the circuit yourself if you've got the skills..
heres a review
you can buy it here
Although one might argue that videogame systems, music and dvd sales have increased due to the cocooning effect seen post sept 11th.
