that upgrade their servers constantly and there is no way I'm going to recommend this shit!. Beside I'd rather they use the CPU cycles to run our software not some fancy UI.
My opinion, from watching and talking to friends using bottles, is the children are getting fed far to much overly rich formula. Lets face it sticking a warm bottle of food in a kids mouth is more convenient then whipping out a breast and with our societies prejudices it can be difficult in public. Friends also tell me how they use the bottle as a pacifier and I have to wonder how many children are getting a bad start with over eating. Correct me if I'm wrong, I frequently am, but it's difficult to get rid of those fat cells once they are created?
There are studies ( just goggle breastfeeding and studies) also showing relationships between illness and lack of breast feeding (both for the child and the mother) as well as social issues.
I wonder if we loose bonding skills and other social skills for the lack of breastfeeding or conversly do we reinforce them by breastfeeding. If so do those lost skills also contribute to obesity ?
Maybe its time to look closer at what was meant to happen by the very biological/genetic nature of women having a built in milk factory?
BTW If your new to all this, expecting, diapers are costly enough but wait till you price formula, what a racket they have!!!!
My wifes been studying to be a dula so we've been immersed in that culture of a more nature child:-) I have over the last 10 years paid a lot of attention to the people we know/meet a have talked with them about bottle vs breast feeding. It just seems that those that were breast fed where slimmer.
One big reason for this, don't laugh, is the lack of breast feeding in America. We (not my family) give a baby an bottle of man made slop and expect the child to get all the correct nutrients as if they were cattle. My kids were breast fed and are as slim as rails, tall and muscular, with more energy to burn then a small super nova. We did nothing different in their diet after weaning, they eat the same breakfast, lunch and dinner we do, cheerios, tuna sandwiches and chicken for example.
IMHO the worst thing a mother with the ability to breast feed can do is to use formula!
to hold a book, flip quickly through it, mark pages, set it down and forget it, search for it, be almost comforted by it. Reading on a pc is to impersonal, its good for quick sound bytes, like Slashdot stories but not easy enough compared to a book.
I recently tried out the Safari Bookshelf from O'Rielly and if I good justify the cost based on searching for a specific answer it was great. But for reading a book cover to cover it was just to distracting. Like reading with the TV or radio playing loadly in the background. Email, web searches, solitar, just to many ways to get of track. And personally I think the size and shape of a book has evolved from what we need in order to be comfortable reading.
Just my 2 bits.
While your at it let me burn B100 (100% bio-diesel) in my dually rather the B10 (10%) that California forces you to use. I mean shit why would I pay $3.95 a gallon for B10 when I can spend $3.10 for pure dino-diesel or cook B100 myself for even less?
Yikes reminds me of the time we were doing contract work for Premises One (may they rot in hell) at a site near the Phoenix airport. Seems this company didn't believe in pulling old runs or discontinued cabling. The main feed into the one big closet was a trunk 4 feet across of twinax, arcnet, old phone lines, thinnet cat-IV, cat-V, cctv cables you name it. It was actually starting to eat some of the punch-downs on the walls.
if he was using my wife's "Mobile Winblows" based vx6700 phone. POS is slow, the phone portion freezes up at the most inopportune times, it doesn't work (and the word work is a stretch) with anything but windows programs and did I mention it was a sluggish bloated pig ? Is that the type of corporate software he is referring to?
Clippy: I see, you want me to spend the rest of eternity searching 13 petabytes for your stupid spreadsheet??! I quit!!
User: This maybe the first effective way to get rid of that little twerp.
They may be the "world's factory" but we are their customers and I don't think the manufactures of China would want to make it difficult for Wal-Mart etal to send in those orders and bank transfers.

To be honest I have never gone looking for the studies myself but http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&safe =off&q=breastfeeding+study+obesity&btnG=Search seems to have a lot of information.

I'm so conservative, but thats funny :-)
Is it just me or has Gartner become a shill for certain companies that would like to see Apple and Linux fail?

We did that one time to a subrenter at our old office. Guy came in one day to several big boxes of terminals and thousands of feet of Cat-3.

carbon areogel capacitors? I remember reading somewhere that these where going to be the new batteries because of their super high surface areas.

No wonder the cost of schooling is on the rise, takes a big salary to keep those professors in luxury cars :-)
I know there is no love lost between these two companies but thats alot of cash lost and bad publicity for Micro$oft!
