I love the real life analogy to a VIDEO GAME, it makes no sense. Video games != Real life.

Remember you don't won the characters or items. You pay Blizzard to have the privilege of using their servers in the way they tell you too. Everything belongs to blizzard.

It affects people by inflation, making spam bots, gold farmers sealing off areas (enter one where you need a drop...good luck). If what you do affects anyone's playing experience because you broke the terms of the TOS then that's the issue. So yes it DOES affect me. If what you did had 0 impact on anyone else not a problem too bad it doesn't

But then again people are so selfish now a days who cares right? I mean you call me an asshole just for disagreeing with you with valid counter points.

This is a GAME! Bottom line. The company who is hosting the game says here are the rules. You may follow them or not. If you don't like them don't play. Don't try to hide your actions which ruin the game for others (inflation, spam bots, just to name a few) behind this is a real economic model. It's not and never will be. Blizzard may one day pull the plug and everything is gone.

It's funny the justification people will give to break the rules in a simple game even though it does effect others. Yes it effects others and when that happens your justifications are out the window.

Blah blah I don't want to grind..blah blah I don't have time...blah blah blah. Dear complainer Blizzard lets you play for free for 30 days if you can't dedicate the time or effort to play the game play something else. Don't do shit which ruins it for others.

Now back to my little world...

Just seems like more people and more people want to make a buck no matter who they trample over.

The game cases can be very simply [one slip of paper in the from stating the game name], manual could be downloaded form their website in PDF format, etc. If they save all this money of the case/printing manual/cutting out the middle man could they sell the game for 30 or 40 bucks and still profit?

If they tried this model I would more then likely buy the game to support it.

Then they dump the US dollar (our economy tanks. maybe china takes a hit but at this point it is a war). Now you have a US with a weak economy, weak military, out of the middle east (wonder how much gas costs after that), etc.

As for the small military comment: If you have a small force that cant hold onto the land it grabs once it controls it what good does that do you? Also the small sized forces are highly trained and equipped which means losses hurt you (can't easily replace someone who has been trained for years) vs. hey with conscription we can take massive losses and still go on.

Two look at the US during our depression what got us out of it. By gearing up the country for war jobs and money were produced. China would do the exact same thing. And since they have a ton of US factories well that wont be a problem.

Three any income loss will not effect the rich it will effect the normal person. Oh out of a job you say well look at the package if you join the army! Oh don't want to join well your coming in anyway either way more numbers to their forces.
Four since the US is already tied up in the middle east and the armed forces are stretched how much could we throw at them vs. what they can throw at us? So the conflict will probably be very quick.

Of those mac owners how many play games...probably a very small fraction. So a developer simply says given the small mac market, given the smaller percentage of that who will play games, and then given the even small percentage of those who play games buying my particular game, is the cost worth the potential profit. My guess is right now it is not.

I don't know if it will change anytime soon. No one says I want to play games now so I will buy a mac and hope in 5 years I have a huge selection. The market that does play games wants to now, not in a few years.
