Many universities teach you different things. We're not talking hidden trade skills or secret knowledge about standards (oxymoron), but rather skills for the rest of your life. Like how to learn, how to interact with people in a professional setting, the time to meet people, prestige, and more.
They're called institutions for a reason, as they give a "prescribed education". You don't need them as has been proven over and over and over again, but in today's business world, it's nice to have proof you know how to learn.
Just a few more years?
If they're still looking to hire, I doubt this would be anytime soon. It is valve we're talking about here. Let me know when they publicly announce it.

I think you should care. Just because google decided to start with a single platform doesn't mean it'll remain that way.
So they got rid of dealing with different platforms and stuck to a single one to focus on the algorithms behind voice recognition. Sounds like a good plan to me. Hopefully they'll extend it to other platforms if it works well with the iPhone.
The iPhone seems like a more practical platform as well. It's designed for on the go and use of voice. Your desktop? Not so much.
My point is that just because there's a law, doesn't mean it's followed or enforced. My solution is to just release enough security threats (redirects in this case) that people are simply forced to switch. In basic terms, money is the only reason why people change. Take the American government, for my obligatory Obama plug./zing!
Tell that to a corporation or small business. For their "survival" they need the internet. Now if you're talking about human survival.... we're all in America right?/sarcasm
Then you said it yourself, education is the fix, not a "tag" or label. I say take the warning labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself./quote.
But seriously, who would protect the data centers? If they're in international waters then they don't have any of the perks of US soil, like military protection... unless they instantiate a new task force. Maybe there is a use for the mini-sub.

An excerpt from the seemingly favorite:
First of all, the game incorporates a draconian DRM system that requires you to activate over the internet, and limits you to a grand total of 3 activations. If you reach that limit, then you'll have to call EA in order to add one extra activation. That's not as simple as it sounds, since when you reach that point EA will assume that you, the paying customer, are a filthy pirating thief. You will need to provide proof of purchase, reasons why the limit was reached, etc, etc (it has all happened before with another recent EA product, Mass Effect). EA, of course, is not obligated to grant you that extra activation or even provide that service. In a couple of years they might very well even shut down the general activation servers, because "it's not financially feasible" to keep them running. What you will be left with is a nice, colorful $50 coaster. And you will be required to pay for another copy/license if you want to continue playing.
"Since du has a monopoly in the Free Zones, customers have no alternative connections. du's prices for a 2mbit internet connection (6GB transfer limit) is around 5 times the cost of a similar connection (with no bandwidth limit) in western Europe.
On 13 April 2008, Dubai Internet City's internet service provider du announced that all of its traffic would be routed via the UAE's censorship proxy which blocks access to any content deemed 'inappropriate'. du was already blocking VOIP services.
So while Dubai Internet City sells itself as a business-friendly environment with excellent connectivity, the reality is now one of a heavily censored internet (including websites relating to alcohol and gambling) with popular services like Skype completely blocked."

News flash: Define "China". Hong Kong and a couple of other cities? Sure. But communist China is still alive and well. See Special Economic Zones.
Oh and just because the US defines a country a certain way, doesn't mean it's true.
See People's Republic of China versus Republic of China, and don't let the names give you any assumptions.
Seriously, a lot of America needs a history lesson before we're going to start to understand what's backing a lot of Chinese decisions.
I'd say ask the user/bot to solve an algorithm. That way, whoever does it, everyone wins. Then we can finally get to developing computers that develop better algorithms, ie themselves. I for one...
Not really, as mentioned before, it's all about the server content. Why turn anyone away? Sure it doesn't look good, but most technology companies profit from non-PC aspects they'd rather dust under a rug.
What channel have you watched on? Whenever I viewed them as a kid I remember entire sequences of events that showed most if not all the competitors performing. Sure they had commercial breaks, but they always showed the entire competitions, even if it wasn't live...
Why re-invent fire? If someone in the industry already knows how and provides the service for a fee you're willing to pay because it's much less than what it would cost you to learn, secure, and implement properly, then why do it again, pay more for it, and not sleep well at night? Let the other guy lose sleep.
But the most relevant part was that they shot fireworks off the pier into the mar, sea, which exploded off of the water, something I doubt they would do in America...
I have never seen a show where the fireworks, the things that are usually shot off of boats into the sky above water to explode, were shot horizontally to fall into the sea and exploded on, literally on, the water.
Every reply says they shoot the fireworks off of the water, yes they do, but they don't explode on the water in America. Is that more clear?
I just doubt with all the law suits and safety guidelines in the US, along with studies like this, is why it would never happen.
...if these levels are affected by the show I just saw. I'm currently in Barcelona, Spain and witnessed the best July 4th Fireworks show I have ever seen, including any Disney display.

So most of the world now means the United States?
Veganism in China and India (two of the worlds most populous countries) may in fact be a majority.
Let me guess... Dubai Internet City?
