I would think it would be more logical to Genetically alter them so after they mate their are only male offspring who are healthy and live long. While the female dies off early or not at all. Yes BluRay is superior... However streaming is good enough for most cases. As a lot of us wants to watch a movie and not count the pours on the main characters skin. So the value of BluRay over a lower bandwidth connection isn't much of an issue. Once people get an average of 100mbs for their network then we may seen BluRay quality streaming media. But by then there will be something else that will top that.

Sure place no blame on the average public. Even after a lot of media coverage about the housing market being in a bubble and could pop. A lot of the average person was putting their own money into this as a way to get rich quick. The banks and the other rich were trying to meet demand. As they were many other sources that would have put them out of business if they didn't try to meet the demand. The average person is just as greedy if not more then the rich. I have seen the rich warning the average person. But they didn't listen.

Do you really want a class of people telling us what is right and wrong. If not then you shouldn't blame them for not going out of their way to stopping you from doing something stupid.

Oddly enough you can extend this idea out even further and it is possible for Atheist to follow the philosophy of Christianity without any of the Dogma, and mythology around it.

I don't think Psychopathic really explains how a corporation works. Efficiency is more the key issue here. Efficiency often has a moral trade off. Why have 5 men do the work if it can be done by one robot? The robot will save money and be more efficient at the expense of giving 5 people work. If the company decided not to be efficient it would shortly fail to be competitive. Leading the general consumer population to not buy their products because it is too expensive. As the consumer (Everyone) is acting on their own self interest and trying to efficiently use their own money. If the company fails to operate there will be more people not just the 5 people without a job.

A corporation is a group of people. All your money spent will end up in the pockets of a person at some point.

Until you can find consumers who are willing to pay a lot more for products because of better working practices you will expect most companies to operate efficient as its customer base demands efficiency.

This has nothing to do with Open Source. It is about using the best practices found and implementing them. The real problem with government is a lack of good metrics to measure performance. If you measure it then you know what works and what doesn't and you use what works.

But on the flip side you get a bunch of whiny pants who wants to keep the bad way of doing things and state that the metrics are not good.

This is about measuring performance in particular areas and using what works better as a best practice. Open Source is nothing like that. If you are lucky and have a good team and leadership you may get best practices implemented.
