They publish specs next to the phone so they can try to market their phone as so much more better then the other ones.
While technically smart phones are the same as a normal computer. There doesn't have a much of a white box do it yourself Smart Phone community like they do with PCs. You cannot buy customization to your phone to make it better for gaming or better.
In the US market there is probably about 6 carriers you can choose from and they will offer 10 different smart phones each. It is easy for software makers to list out all the phones it will work well on.
I agree. The standard car, is quite boring. I mean batman is supposed to be over the top. Some of those cars would be fine for Bruce Wane, but not for Batman. Some of those cars almost look like a gremlin. When I think batman I see a car when it drives up the bad guys go oh crap it is Batman. Not hey look it is a random guy driving up.
It is part of their key feature that they advertise over android and iPhone. The ability to look at your phone and see realtime updates without loading an app.
Unfortunately in order to get realtime updates. That needs data to be sent to the phone even when you don't need it.
That is why iPhone pushed it's push notification. As well as it's psuto multitasking. To keep it's customers safe from killing their plans.
There are 3 stages. Early adopters: It is the new hip thing to do. Also this is where the zealots and the big fans come in. This was the area when face book was considered a social network for college kids.
Middle adopters: This is where the product gets it's name recognition. And big envesters come in. This is where it really grows. you don't need to be hip to use it it is mostly expected.
Late adopters: Ok it isn't a fad. That is when grandma gets an account. It is big and the early adopters start leaving to the next big thing.
So even when you go from stage 2-3 you are still growing. But you are approaching the end.
I see this type of argument before. If everyone pays an extra dollar for X then we can have so much more money for Y. The problem is there are so many ways to use money that they add up quickly. And you are paying a lot for taxes. That is why we need to keep viglalent on where all are our taxes are going.
Where are most of these jobs. What is the cost of living for people with these jobs. I bet if you break down you will see we are not so good off compared to other jobs which is more distributed.
Now how is pushing services to a cloud exsaserbating the problem? Sure going to the cloud has it pros and conns. But if you are retiring your old servers to a cloud in terms you are Upgrading your infrastructure and removing your old stuff.
Don't forget the exceptions if you are a sports star for the school. Or a foreign exchange student who is supposed to show how much smarter they are to us Americans.
If you are un-remarcable and you make one stupid mistake you are out.
Guys like him are really the scum of the earth, and people don't realize it. Ok he stood up to the big countries and posted some stuff, they didn't want to release... However honestly is any of this really surprising material. Civilians got Killed in war, dignitaries are not so dignified. Some politically incorrect stuff was said when it wasn't going to be in the presses. If any of this stuff shocked anyone you had to be an idiot. None of this stuff caused anyone to change except to add more safeguards to keep the stuff more private, and just gave those countries extra grief at the tax payers expense. You want a more open government great do something about it like lobbying your government (yes citizens groups can Lobby too, not just companies) Put your time and effort in those groups. Not crap like wiki-leaks which will not effect polity, and make the guy hosing it rich and (in)famous.
Yea well I need to money to support my lawsuit... Plus an additional million dollars, this sounds kinda self serving to me. But a herd of sheeple who think they just because they are left winged think they are actually not following the herd. Will pay him money, for something that is neither revolutionary nor useful.
Yea right. We only get small cars when we can't afford the big ones. And none of the hippy but Europe does this nonsense.
1. The United States has a low population density. That means...
A. A lot of us are located far apart. Making travel long and in the winter more difficult.
B. Long distances to stores we need shop and get more stuff per shopping.
C. Public transportation is too cost prohibitive for many municipalities.
2. Wide weather patterns. Upstate NY. Summer up to 100 degrees winter -10. Snow fall can be up to 3 or 4 inches before the plows come by.
3. Large rural areas. Dirt roads. That are muddy and slippery.
4. Comfort. If you need to drive for a longer time it is nice that your ass isn't sore.
5. Free market. If you thought the tea party was bad about the silly stuff about the health care bill. Try telling the public what car they need to buy. You will see a lot of violence.

But it makes fun of Microsoft... Isn't that all we need. If there is a bug in Microsoft we celebrate.
Many don't realize that a DDOS hurts more then your target. Most places use external data centers. A really bad DDOS can bring down a data center then hit many other sources, which could be more vital information then a silly web page, saying stuff that people don't want to read.
I think it may be more to the fact that because of the strictness of GA it most likely drove a lot of people to open office and google docs. Where before they would get someone buy a copy and share it with three or four people. But they would be using office and demanding office files.
Your Wrong. REAL LIFE Technology has a use to DO SOMETHING!. Technical correctness is a tool to save us from problems. However it is not the end all be all. In order to get things to work you may need to break the Purity rules to get it to work.
A kernel that is all Free just means there is less hardware supported. It doesn't mean things run better. It is really just a loose loose situation.
For one it was Shareware. Shareware at the time was actually Really Crappy games and applications. Commander-Keen was one of the first shareware title games that was of a "professional" quality. Good Graphics (for 320x200x16 colors) good game play... This was one of the first games that came out that was shareware and worth expanding.
Secondly platform games were new back then. Sure some were out but mostly for consoles. There were some for the PC. But at the time the IBM PC just introduced the EGA graphics. Before we were stuck with CGA Cyan, Magenta, White, Black. Well 16 colors that can replace black. Cyan could also be light green or dark green, magenta could be Light Red or Dark Red, and White could be Yellow or brown. In general Ok for graphs sucked for games.
No more fake then non-CGI Special effects. Models, Miniatures, Pyrotechnics, double exposures, air brushing, adding cell animation, voice overs, cut editing, force perspective...
There are a lot of special effects that look very real. And often those are for actions that are realistic and you know what it should look like. But for people and objects doing or existing when they really shouldn't be there will look fake.
It depends. Smart Companies only lay off workers who are doing job that they really don't need anymore. So dropping a non-core or poor growth business unit, or where technology has replaced their usefulness.
Stupid Companies do blind layoffs being that it takes 150% more money to hire each employee. So if they are laying off people only to rehire those positions they are actually spending more then keeping the employee.
So for these people they may be part of a business unit or department that isn't needed as much anymore. So you remove the people as well close the buildings and the other resources as well.
There isn't anything wrong with ipv4 either. We just need to clean up the hourders. I know my undergrad had a class B and 2 class C domains. And there are only 5000 students and like 800 faculty. Most of them doesn't need an outside address. And could be natted. I bet a lot of collages have more then they need. As well as a lot of companies. Ipv6 only offers freedom for bad network design and not knowing who is in or out.
I agree. I don't game much because I suck at the game and I don't have the time to be proficient at a game. My life has many more pressing goals to achieve then mastering a game. However when I play a game I done want to suck so much that it isn't fun.
Open Source business model works well when your company model is a consulting based business. Suns model was product based business. IBM doesn't do many products any more, they offer services and consulting this works with Open Source. Sun made products this didn't work with open source. So McNealey view is apt.
If you are in business of making products to sell to others Open Source is a threat. If you make a service or consulting on using products then Open Source is an asset.

I won't use sites like that as i won't have control of my data.

I didn't see any Zipbuds on that link.
The things I saw were much larger.

Yea and the Sicilian can be played by Grand Nagus Zek. Man he would sound really funny in that...
