I am mixed. The Chinese people would be better off with it vs without it. However the tight controls in censoring material means they may not be getting all the ideas and experience needed for a fully informed decision, and gives power back into government trying to stop this.
However I am not a Chinese Citizen, I am an American Citizen. I can sympathize with the Chinese people but with my right to free speech and my ability to vote. I should be able to express when our government is doing something wrong, or at least showing that it is being inconsistent.
Because how dare people have a hobby! Oh look a harmless drone flying around. I is following the rules, being used safely not spying on people. But lets shoot it down, because someone has a hobby! We can't have people having a hobby, unless it is shooting stuff. Then in that case it is our god given right!
A leader belonging to a political party who opposes government rules and Regulations on businesses. Is trying to stop a Business from making and selling a product. Because the customer is a country that tries to influence companies to make and not make particular products and services.
So he is either a Hypocrite because he is pushing political pressure on a business while he stands for the idea there is too much political pressure on companies. Or he is a Hypocrite because he is trying to use political pressure to stop a company from doing an action managed by political pressures.
Or is it he is just annoyed that a LiBeRaL California company is still doing business even during a trade war. Because the Chinese Government was smarter then the Trump Administration, and counteracted tarrifs only on products sold by people who would vote for them.
If you have to fix a problem, you need to make sure it will not negatively affect any other customer as well. Also a lot of companies outsource to other companies, because they think they will have better service then in-house, However their inhouse is probably better staffed and skilled then the company is.
Well FitBit doesn't monitor hits to the head. Also in a lot of cases. I put on my health tracker, I go for cardio run. My Heart Beats exceeding 170bpm then I stop, Cooling down, I take off the fitbit, just because I do not want it on me.
I don't follow your logic. For this case, FitBit was holding onto such data. Then it gave it via established legal policies. (Unlike the Bush Era Phone call monitoring, which it was just a blanket sending of data the the Government)
As for relating it to the failed war on drugs this isn't a Tech companies problem, this is a problem with our society.
The part that I would feel more concerned about was the fact that FitBit was able to retrieve the information with a Warrant. A good security model would be that personal data would be stored where only the end user can have the data not sitting visible on some data center somewhere.
Political BS: OFF A lot of Babies R Us sales are from Grand parents and other family members getting stuff for Baby Showers. Planned Child Birth allows for longer term planning and normally greater family involvement in the process, thus more sales. Vs. Someone who accidentally got pregnant with some jerk. And half of her family has sunned her for her mistake.
Political BS: ON I don't want to see abortions I believe it is akin to murder. However we need to make conditions where someone would want or need to have abortions lower. Just making it illegal, will not work. There is too much Demand for it. We need to fix our society and its support systems to deal with this reality. Having a child shouldn't be an economic problem, because in Macro Economics it is a net benefit, but in Micro Economics it is an expense. Society shouldn't exclude unplanned parents, and proper education in prevention with realization Sex will happen.
Amazon is a factor in the equation though. A lot of the debt and influx of money went into growth. Competition with Amazon may had slowed down the profit from growth, so they couldn't pay the interest.
With Amazon nearly a click away, I actually think Toys R Us keeping with the retail stores may have been a better investment, it is nearly impossible for a company to go head to head online with Amazon. Investing into an online presence may had been a total waste of money.
In short Toys R Us borrowed a lot of money to expand. When it was time to pay off their debt they hadn't grown as much as they hoped too. So they couldn't pay their debt. A good simple you tube explanation on it Not so much Evil corporate underhanded activities. They took a risk, and it backfired.
That isn't too much to be expected. An effective amount of staff a manager can handle is about 8 employees. Then a higher manager needs to manage 8 managers.... So that is probably 5 or 6 levels of management
Almost everyone in Sales gets a Manager/VP... Or some sort of title. It makes customers who are dealing with them feel like they are dealing with someone important. Also to note Verizon is a Union shop and most unions do not cover people in management. So They probably give a lot of poor schlubs manager titles and salaries to avoid the union.
The thing about IT is an Intelligent person can perform any particular action of our job. Writing a program, configuring a network, changing security permissions... However competency is knowing when to use a skill when not to, and planning for the consequences for such actions.
Professional Competent IT guy: Can I be 100% sure the solution will work... No, I cannot. However I know the worst case scenario if this fails, and how to fix it. Also I had accounted for and made sure many "worser" cases had already been addresses.
Incompetent guy who thinks he can do it: Look at this solution that I made, it is done in half of the the time IT quoted for it. Let me run this and get the job done... it may work... however it may not. Opps it looks like really messed up, and the data is gone. OMG what am I going to do now, I am not in big trouble. Sheepishly calls IT, who has a backup, because they were competent enough to plan for this guys incompetence.
At least I know enlightenment 0.22.4 is newer then 0.21.9. I know developers hate taking the plunge and say here is version 1.0 because they feel it isn't quite done yet. However I feel if it is good enough to be in a stable release of a major distribution, it would be safe to take it out to beta.
That isn't what the article says. A bonus is different then a normal raise in salary, also stock awards to low end employees are rarely that useful, here is a few thousand dollars of stock, you can cash it in, but you probably shouldn't because it will be worth more in the future.
Normally I prefer a higher salary then hoping for a Bonus. With Bonuses I am hoping for the Good will of the company. Vs the Company putting in a long term investment in me.
What system shouldn't be used at all remotely and not communicate with systems that shouldn't be used remotely.
If a doctor is doing some work remote, he will need access to the EHR, which needs access to archive, and lab systems, then data will be sent to the billing system, accessible by the billing staff who is often working remote as well.
I always thought it was the antibiotic resistant bacteria: Only a very small portion of the patient population is affected from this. incompetent doctors: Normally these people just prolong pain and suffering vs. actually put safety at risk. greedy hospital boards and administrators: They are too busy impressing each other then actually doing anything.
Shouldn't all the access issues be covered under existing acts like HIPAA? They are, but there is wiggle room, and most professionals especially ones under pressure will find workarounds. Or smaller institutions, will just hope it will slip by.
Two Factor Authentication should be the minimum requirement for remote access to anything in a hospital or within a patient...: It is, they just don't use it.
I get yelled at by Doctors all the time, because we force things like multi-factor authentication, auto locking system after 10 minutes, forced encryption on devices, when deploying new software having to do a full security review, often rejecting the coolest product for a boring old one, just because it meets security standards, setting up the network so you just can't plug in any device anywhere....
However no matter how much security we try to put in place, the Doctors who think they know better and think this security is for the Registration Staff, will find ways around it and not report it back, so it can be addressed.
There is more harm in having data missing or stolen, then having to take an extra 20 seconds to log in.
Your reward is the payment for the time it took to automate. Also if this guy acted ethically and let the company know he automated the process, he would had been given other jobs to automate other actions, and/or promoted to do work to help improve overall efficiency. Where he would get increased pay because one could show off they are more valuable.
Now if you were getting compensated for your improvement in your automation. Lets say some guy makes a new version of that which now does it faster. Will your payments will stop.
The work around should had been he could sell support for the product, patch it for new issues, and changes in workflow. But it didn't sound like he was maintaining it either. Just kinda letting it do its thing. And now if that application broke and corrupted a millions of records, would you complain if he was sued for damages.
After window 3.11 Microsoft tossed out the idea of coming up with reasonable versions. With going to Dates, then just letter combinations and back to a number, then skipping numbers and just sticking on 10 Apple did the same thing. After iOS 9 they just got stuck on OS X (Ten) Solaris dropped the major version number and just sold the minor number. Mozilla just changed to match Google Chrome version for no reason.
Version numbers should mean something. Major number means a major revision or change on key components. Minor is just for patches and fixes.
I actually hope California holds it grown and wins, then other states will all start their own Net-neutrality laws, each one slightly different. Enough for them to say. You know it would be much easier if we had a single rule to follow across all the state lines. Aka Net-neutrality.
Currently I really don't know if I am getting for what I paid for from my ISP. Sure running speed tests says I am good. But are they just keeping the pipe open on the speed tests, but slowing other sites which I may need to do real work with?
I am mixed.

Well it stated he killed his step daughter, who was 67. If he stayed in good shape, or her health was diminished. It makes it quite possible.
Well FitBit doesn't monitor hits to the head. Also in a lot of cases. I put on my health tracker, I go for cardio run. My Heart Beats exceeding 170bpm then I stop, Cooling down, I take off the fitbit, just because I do not want it on me.

Start Small, and work up again.
The Toy's R Brand is well known. Brand recognition is 80% of the battle.
