> I also wish Konqueror could work with > Macromedia's flash plugin.
I don't know, but on my machine here the Flash plugin is working since KDE 2.x times I think. And it still works with KDE 3.2. In fact Konqueror loads almost every Mozilla/Netscape plugin for Linux I know of.
This sounds just like the firewall admin who said We never have been hacked or even been tried to be hacked. This guy will almost absolutely surely have missed some attacks and does not watch his logfiles.
How can you say that you never had a virus when you never used an AV-scanner? Some viruses may not be noticable when on your system.
It took me not about 3 clicks from the IBM frontpage to get there. The site mentioned above includes some articles about installing RH Linux on ThinkPads and configuring stuff like Bluetooth. I think that's pretty neat and there are also vendors who sell Thinkpads with Linux preinstalled.
I second that emotion! I am always glad to help people with their computer problems. But over time they start to take it for granted that I help them for free. I don't know why that is so, but most of the time I am happy to get a thank you. Nevertheless I still like to help people with their computer problems, because that's what I love to do. It's not about being an asshole all the time, but one has to know when to say "No", and when it's ok to spend some of your time to help others for free.
And to go back one step: Anyone remembering the NVidia nv1? That was even way before the TNT series. Cool chip, but it never managed to get much attention. See here for a picture and more info: http://www.3dchip.de/Grafikkartenmodds/Grafixmodds/nvidias-NV1-002.jpg -- german site, though.
Yes, it comes with KMozilla. For RPM based systems it can be found in the kdebindings3-mozilla, which contains the XParts-libraries for embedding arbitrary non-KDE applications.
Also interesting to note, that the Soyuz capsules are managed by Starsem, a french-russion joint venture, in which Arianespace is a shareholder. And for the record: Soyuz has made 1673 succesful launches! So much for anyone's doubt on russian reliability.
My bank here in Germany uses a secure Java applet (https and ssl) which runs perfectly in my Konqueror 3.0.4. It runs even better than in Mozilla, where there are some display glitches, due to some font issues.
This gives a whole new meaning...

...to the term core dump! I wonder if this machine also has an overflow bit!?
I don't understand what the fuzz is all about. Yast is not that great a tool that I would say everyone has to use it. The source code for Yast is there, and you are allowed to modify it as you wish -- with one condition: you have to label this version as a modified Yast-version. So no big deal! Try to focus on what SuSE has done for the OpenSource-community: They fund a lot of the ALSA-project development (Jaroslav Kysela), they heavily pushed the development of XFree86 including writing of drivers for until then unsupported cards, porting Linux to the s390 and much more. They also employ a couple of the KDE core developers (Waldo Bastian et al.).
We are using the DVR A03 here for backup purposes and hacking together Linux DVDs. I must say that this device really is great. Pioneer support is also quite good. The writer died a couple of weeks ago, but an exchange device came only a few days later. And with DVD-R media at about 3,- EUR and DVD-RW at 6,- it also becomes a feasible alternative to CD-R/RW. The old DVR A03 also costs "only" 300,- EUR now. That's a price many people might be willing to pay, and when the DVR A05 hits the stores, I think prices will fall even more.
and easy-to-use, CDDB compatible OGG CD-rip utilities.
KDE's Konqueror has got full OGG and CDDB support. You just type in the URL "audiocd:/" and you get a list of.ogg-files with correct CDDB titles and all. Ready to copy them via drag'n'drop onto your harddisk. Also to be seen on this screenshot.
Ever heard about authoring DVD-Rs? Here in germany a DVD-R for authoring costs as much as 21.00 (That's roughly the same value in $$s). I mean, I don't know any John Doe who would use them, but if this guy is working in the movie/tv industry I can see his point (check out http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=607 93 for more information).
Currently there are two lines in planning with Maglev technology in Germany. It's called the "Metrorapid", and one line is planned in Northrine Westphalia and the other one in Bavaria. They want to have the tracks ready for the next soccer world cup in 2006. You can find more information here (in german) or try the google translation.
Apart from Brahms there is another nice Sequencer/Note editor for KDE -- Rosegarden:
http://www.all-day-breakfast.com/rosegarden/index. html
It is based upon the old (ugly, Xaw) Rosegarden 2.1, which is also available on the above site.
The problem is, that people will actually listen to what those racists say. We had that here in Germany, remember? The people who post racist stuff on the internet may not be the ones committing the crime, but they will make others do it! And consider this: You might be into free speech, so are we all! But racists, facists and the like don't give shit about it. You might want to fight with fair weapons and defend everyone's rights! But they don't! So how should we solve this mess?
Of course, if someone implemented minesweeper and freecell in place of breakout, you'd have at least a shot at those people who don't really use Windows for much else;-)
But those people would still have to reboot! So the solution would be running LILO with Minesweeper in Plex86 or VMware!
...hex 0xA4 or 164 decimal. And it's not really ASCII but it's part of the ISO 8859-15 character set. That's also what you've got to tell all your X11 applications. And you must have ISO 8859-15 aware fonts installed, which is the case with recent Linux distribution (e.g. SuSE 7.3 is fully Euro enabled).

p. 11 of the whitepaper says: Gnome 2.0 libraries.
Right! I'm sorry. I mistook it with "Headcleaner" from the "Einstürzenden Neubauten"... My mistake.
The last band I knew with a song called Headcleaner was Front242. And that song REALLY was a headcleaner! I think it was called "upper case" music...

And it even has been floating around for YEARS. Look at some screenshots of it here. I think it might be what you are looking for.
Check out http://scummvm.sf.net/
But make sure to download the CVS version! It works brilliantly with Indy4.
