  1. I have no idea what you are talking about. Google maps loads instantly for me. It doesn't do much beyond map related functions, so I'm not sure where you are getting "bloated" from.

  2. Isn't removing infringing content at the request of the rights holders its-self an act of moderation?
    You must do that in order to be considered a safe harbor, but having moderators means you don't have safe harbor protections.

    You got it wrong, it helps the guy selling it sleep at night, not you. Huge piles of money is apparently very comfortable.

    And I don't back up my passwords in the cloud. They're encrypted on an SD card.

    How do you enter passwords on your cell phone?

    But they weren't, or didn't; so we have to deal with reality. Reality says people don't understand map projections, even though they were supposed to learn about them. So the choice is to continue trying the same thing, over and over, again, or try something new.

    A map is data, not code.

    The line is fuzzy. What if the "data" for your map says that when the user walks over a specific location, call a specific function? What if those functions can accept information about the state of the game at that point? What if that map data can contain multiple function calls? At some point that map data starts to look like a script, and scripts look an awful lot like code.

    Wikileaks is a highly political organization. They're not an equal opportunity leaker. The timing and subjects of their leaks is definitely geared toward specific political goals.

    What happens to the jr. developer whose first task was to write software that was only supposed to be used internally as a test, when a year later some manager decides to put that code on a public facing, external server?

    Then don't go to a gas station in the US.
    Almost all of them in this area have gone to a "pre-pay" mode, where they think you must be a criminal who will drive away without paying unless they make you pay first.

    What US are you talking about? I haven't had to pre-pay for gas in PA, MD, NY, or VA in over 15 years.

  24. Those standard USB ports tend to be a little weak point in the construction of the phone. They often fail completely, or damage the port / phone if someone does something like trip over the USB cable. The become loose over the life of the phone as the cable is plugged and unplugged, sometimes making it hard to keep the cable plugged in.

    Wireless charging is a boon to anyone who has ever experienced any of these problems.

    Please don't talk about nuclear power until you understand the basic principals, like what a meltdown actually is. Unless, of course, you actually want to sound like an idiot. Which I kind of suspect is the case.
