If the ps3 follows the same trend as the ps1 and the ps2, it will be safe to say that the ps3 will be the driving force in the disk market. It will be a sort of "back door" into many homes.
Heck, DVDs didnt take off in Japan until the ps2 came out.
Take a look at some of the student/indy films in the past two years. For a small sum of, say, a few thousand bucks, people are making short films that easily rivals anything hollywood is putting out, including special effects.
Doing this doesn't allow the buttons themselves to have analog function anymore, just on/off... What? You didn't know they were analog? They are! No, really! VERY useful you know!
Sarcasm drip drip.
Uhm, there _are_ several games that use the analog function in the buttons. Removing that is going to KILL gameplay for a lot of games.
Like, say, madden, or prince of persia, just to start. This step of the hack pretty much kills the system's playability for many games.
Not to be rude or anything, but, yes, the function is very useful, and often used... even though he doesnt see it.
He'll find out when playing GTA, which im fairly sure uses analog.
This is what I do. They think I am Paul R*, a coworker. He was bitching about the card system, and tracking, so I said "so, lets swap cards. That way they'll think you are me, and Im you."
I pre-ordered it in feb. It was delayed for months.
When it finally came out, I was totally absorbed. It was like they took the dreams of "boy, I really wish they would remake x NES game with modern graphics" and perfected it.
Its jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and contains the frantic shmup gameplay of Lifeforce/Salamander/Gradius. 2 player simul, the options dont go away when you die.. and, well, mode-2 with the laser equipped makes you send out "waves" of beams. Its just incredible.
Dont worry. The 2d metroid gba games are some of the best selling games for the company. It would be a foolish financial decision for nintendo to abandon the format.
And you know how fiscally conservative nintendo is.
No, seriously. Just make sure the 0 in bomb is a zero, not an O.
So, does anyone know where the name justin bailey came from? Ive heard things from "its someone to nintendo" all the way to "Just In Bailey" and a bailey is a bathingsuit (is it?)
So.. you think I am "not doing my share" by not having kids?
Jesus, thats really fucking preachy. You are making EXTREME life changing demands on someone you dont even know. Besides, there is no gaurentee that the child will even be a positive influence on the economy, and not a massive drain. (could be next Einstein, could be next Dhamer, who knows?)
I dont much like children, nor am I under any obligation whatsoever to have them. Nor did I force someone else to have kids, so I dont see why I should take up the responsibilities having one entails.
Selfish? I dont think so. I made the distinct choice not to have kids. Selfish is having children, and then expecting the entire world to revolve around. It doesnt.
Btw, I assure you, I am doing my share to keep economics afloat. More then just "picking up the slack for a few hours."
Much, much, much more.
Besides, I am not obligated to you, like you are to your child.
(can you tell I am really sick of people telling me I should have kids, when I really dont want one?)
Of course it isnt, but in this society having a child is a choice. I should not be punished for your choice to have a child.
I'll be happy to throw you a favor, but favors are to be repaid, and more often then not parents do not recognize our efforts.
I dont give a shit that you gave yourself more work and less budget by having a kid. Thats not my problem. I'll be happy to cover for you if youve got some problems though, but I expect some consideration for it.
I spent a significant amount of time in highschool playing with a mandelbrot program and color cycling. In this time, I fell into a trance, and lost a good 4 hours of my life.
When do you plan on giving me these hours of my life back?
Indeed. Katamari Damacy on ps2 was fantastic for the game industry. It showed that new gaming concepts are still out there. (google it for more info. then go buy it. youll thank me.)
However, all of the MI games had unique stories and totally new experiences, with the same interface.
My big problem with starwars games is that they are, basically, just re-doing the same things weve done in games for the past 15 years.
I mean, how many starwars games can you fly a snowspeeder around an AT-AT w/ a cable and have it trip and fall over? A dozen?
Oops. Then blu-ray will win, for the same reason.
Doh, my bad.
As that is what the playstation 3 will have.

and again in the costume shop.
This must be true, because I just got an iPod about 2 weeks ago.

Is that if they claim billions of dollars lost from piracy, then why are these losses not spelled out in their tax forms?

Then again, I could be wrong.
If they are really losses, then why are they not filed on their tax returns?
I'll tell you why. Its because they are lying scumbags.
This is what I do. They think I am Paul R*, a coworker. He was bitching about the card system, and tracking, so I said "so, lets swap cards. That way they'll think you are me, and Im you."
:)
Funny though, I had previously swapped cards.
Now Paul is a woman.
But don't try to charge for moving bits around in a computer, we can do that already so it adds no value and no rational consumer will pay for it
Rational being the operative word. Most people are not rational.
I agree with your sentiment though. I would absolutely pay for a well maintained index of music and movies.
For all the shit theyve been through, NASA still fucking rocks.
Kudos to the Alpha geeks.
We bow.
Go get Gradius V (ps2). Now. It just came out a few months ago. $30 new.
You'll love yourself for it.
Gradius V is fucking amazing.
I pre-ordered it in feb. It was delayed for months.
When it finally came out, I was totally absorbed. It was like they took the dreams of "boy, I really wish they would remake x NES game with modern graphics" and perfected it.

That works too

For the lack of "OMG LOOK AT MY KIDDIE" posts.
:)
For once in my life, someone had a child, and they are still the same person afterwards, or at least seem to be.
So, yeah, thank you for not plastering baby pics everywhere, and harping about how wonderful it is each time your baby takes a dump.
you forgot http://www.google.com/ie
Its not my fault you have a coughing child, and have to stay up past midnight at home.
It is your fault.
You chose to have a kid. Staying up to take care of them is part of the deal.
Cry me a river.
And, guess what. Im not having any kids. Its very presumptuous of you to assume so.
So.. you think I am "not doing my share" by not having kids?

Then I have a valid point. :P
I lost so many hours of my life looking at the pretty colors that program generated :O

*hypnotised by color cycling mandelbrot sets*
*drooool*
Thats okay. But remember, its us without kids that are picking up your slack. YOU OWE US.
Make it up to us. Please.
It is very difficult to be compassionate when, 3 days out of the week, I'm covering for someone who has to leave early because of their kid.
In short, be appreciative, buy us a lunch, offer to pick up some of our work. PLEASE.
