So will the shit hit the fan now? Maybe someone will read this on slashdot or on TFA and start a referendum.

When Google searching on the fair use issue I found this. It shows what can and can not be used in the classroom. Here is part that I think apply to this.

Faculty may include portions of copyrighted works when producing their own multimedia project for their teaching in support of curriculum-based instructional activities at educational institutions.

From the video on TFA it seems that the video is being used in some sort of lecture. From that isn't it legal for schools and universities to use copyrighted material with out permission as long as it is being used for an educational purpose? Let my repeat myself I am not a lawyer. I believe the only thing they needed to do was put in the source if even that but I am not sure. Is anyone familiar with this?

Do it as in Europe - losing side pays for everything, and they will stop pretty quick. I agree that is what they should do but only if they defendant only pays the original asking amount and the lawyer fees for the RIAA comes from the winnings. Because they are being back by corporations and the average Joe is not. I know it isn't perfectly fair for the RIAA but hacking most of their practices aren't fair.

  13. Getting rid of bandwidth hogs... on Comcast Targets Unlicensed Anime Torrenters · · Score: 1

Looks like they are trying to get rid of all the people who truely use their network to its full potential(like me). This is another stike against comcast and why I distrust these companies more and more each day. Even if it is just a scaretactic I still dont like how they don't care for their customers. I just want the latest episode of bleach and naruto. It isn't my fault it takes for ever for it to come out on DVD so I can get it here in America and then it isn't guarantee to have English subs and then you need to wait years for it to be dubbed and then it has terrible voice acting as is apperent in the english version of naruto. So I am being forced by the system to download it from Dattebayo or similar. I will continue doing it regardless but now I have more reason to get off of my comcast connection.

I am very careful about what I put out there, I know that I cant control everything but that is why people use usernames and not real names. All I need to do for a new Identity is create a new one and even then people will rip it off. I know that if someone really wanted to get all my info they could but they would need to invest some serious time into it and even then there is no reason to rethink privacy because there should always be a shield of privacy on the internet. If anything we should be repairing the privacy wall between the consumers and the providers.
