Few enough RPG's do this. I still have fond memories of SaGa Frontier 2, watching the characters go from juveniles to ancients, even dying and passing on the mantle to a new generation (two, in fact.) It really gives the game that sense of scope that is so often found lacking.
Democrat, Republican, it doesn't matter, cults aren't okay.
Doesn't really work that way, though. Any established religion is just a cult that lasted long enough. The prevalent religion in America is a freakin' death cult that regularly feasts on [notional] flesh and blood. Explains a lot when you think about it...
Hopefully they'll also engineer it to compensate for jerks who drive with their brights on. I find on-coming headlights dazzling enough already without amplification, thank you.
Verizon FIOS user confirming. Haven't noticed any lack of access to 4chan (except when the DC snowmageddon knocked out my power... that sort of harshed things for a while.)
True, but those people see communist plots hiding in every shadow. It's like a Rorschach test. They see what they want to see. The sad part is that they don't know the first thing about any of the -isms that they claim to despise; they just get good & mad whenever their talking heads tell them to.
Information "wants" to be free in the same way that electricity "wants" to follow the path of least resistance. Picking at the metaphor doesn't alter the validity of the impression conveyed.
Yeah, I got caught in this trap. Spent a year and a half attending meetings, wrangling the schedule, doing requirements... and then when the time comes that the team needed me to wade back into the code with them, surprise! I was completely unfamiliar with the codebase and unable to do much but "ramp up", which is useless in a crunch. I got the hell out of there and to this day make it clear: I'm a coder. I write code. Things have gone smoothly ever since!
"Hey guys...? Remember when you used to buy $20 CD's based on one or two good singles, and the other 10 tracks were just crap? But it had those two songs you really liked, and maybe one more decent one? Can we go back to that? Please? Love, -the RIAA"
It goes by the name "Mother" in Japan, and I believe there were three of them all told, not counting the never-released NES version (you can find the rom if you look hard enough.)
The Japanese kept all the Mother sequels for themselves, though. I think we should pressure them through the UN. "Oh, is North Korea getting too nukey for ya? Release the Mother sequels, then we'll talk."
Sadly, many of my fellow Americans have no idea what the terms "socialism", "communism", and "Marxism" actually mean, beyond their use as a truncheon with which to batter the opposing political side. These people wear mediocrity as a badge of honor though, so don't pay them too much attention.
Of course, legalizing any of the highly profitable black market drugs would mean bucking the lobbying efforts of one of the USA's major industries, and one of the very few that enjoys freedom from paying any taxes on its profits. So I don't expect this to happen soon or without great effort.
Oh, you just HAD to bring the churches into this...

Just like how we used to say that for less savvy people, the web IS the internet. My lawn. Get off of it.
In case you missed it, the US is not 'other countries.' Just as every other country has its own weird fucked-upedness, so too do we.
Had I any mod points to spend, they would accrue to you, good sir.

Beck and Hannity, done deal. I'll take two media agitators for one pol, that's a pretty good exchange rate. Who says compromise is dead?
At the time, turning the other cheek was considered a taunt. "That was pretty weak. I got another one, you want to try again?"
No doubt there will be an option to revert to the HTML 4 version. Google generally doesn't half-ass that sort of thing.
It filters profanity, however. If that matters to anyone, they'd be better off doing a homebrew.
Lately it just seems like it's sold out to the man. What happened to you, sun? You used to be cool.

Interesting. I had just been running Privoxy alongside Chrome to get much the same effect.

I'd probably do the same thing. "It's been a good life, but faced with leaving it now or lingering on in terrible pain, I think it's time to go."

Why does nature hate God?

Loved it. And the end credits promised a shadowrun 2! Still waiting, FASA... I don't -care- how many times you've changed hands since!
This for Crystalis, please. And do it right this time. The Game Boy Color re-release was awful (they eviscerated the music, nigh-on the best part!)

FFIV was about as close a sequel to FFII as CC was to CT. Kain Highwind -> Ricard Highwind, the continuity of Mysidia, etc.
