    Perfume/cologne IS offensive in close quarters offices. The Director of Sales in my last company would spray his office with it so that 'his' smell permeated the dept. It was a pretty sick display of marking his territory. Eventually HR told him to cut it out or walk. Great salesman, shitty human being.

    There is so much of accessible math theory locked behind the wall of algebra. Mathematics is BORING until you can show people WHY they are learning this. Most math classes i have taken are just total wrote calculation with no rhyme or reason. Its 'do it this way, you'll figure why out later'. When the 'later' is 2 years of math classes down the road, Khan's kinda got a point.

    smartphones and tablets are inextricably linked. They are more alike then not so using that term is perfectly fine until we start calling them what they really are which is pocket/mobile computers.

    ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Turn in your geek card, now. Its not even close. Most techies will tel you Microsoft held computing back by a decade. Apple is exerting force, no doubt, but it is nowhere as insidious as MS was in it heyday. How quickly people forget how truly evil MS is.

    Actually, this is exactly where we want it to be. For the average consumer, both tablets are identical. Email, web browsing, light gaming, communications are all covered along with robust marketplaces. Sort of like Xbox360 vs PS3, both have their strengths and weaknesses, but at the end of the day its hard to find one that is universally better then the other and choosing either will provide a premium experience.

    Parody is a huge part of the Incredibles, sticking characters foreign to The Incredibles universe would strip away something from the IP. I dont think it is something Brad Bird would allow to happen. As far as I know he owns/has control of the IP and hes pretty protective of it.

    Link please. I find nothing on IMDB and the top youtube link labelled "Incredibles 2 trailer 2013 HD" (with 2.5 million views) is just clips from Incredibles 1.

    Just...wow. We are never going to get nice things on the platform if idiots like you are too cheap to pony up $.99 to at least give TOKEN support to developing stuff. Do i love paying for an FTP app? no, but at the same time, its $.99 and if it doesnt work there are 10 more out there, im sure one will.

    USB sticks are NOT FOR LONG TERM STORAGE. They are vessels to carry data short term. In no way are they considered archival.

    Any data you put into a black box for 25 years has a significant chance of being gone when you open it. There are no off the shelf solutions for this. My best advice is encode the info and drop it on a Golden Record, or something else that is as 'permanent'. Only that kind of hard encoding will ensure the data is readable in 25 years.

    The problem is, I dont jsut play my Xbox360. I play PS3, Wii, PC, PSP, Android and iOS too. And they ALL require patching/updating. If you play one or two games constantly on a single console, then yeah its easy-peasy. I cant play them all at once so by the time i swing back around to play something its 2-20 minutes of updating.

    I used to dream that one day we would get Sports games that would update the rosters every year for 5 years. It never occurred to me that in the age of easy updating, they would continue to spit out whole games every year and charge full price for it.

    Consoles long ago gave up 'it just works'. Im CONSTANTLY downloading new patches, making sure my Live account is up to date, etc. Maintaining a gaming HTPC is no more challenging then just stuffing money into your Xbox, esp. if you treat it jsut like a console (no web browsing, no overclocking, no weird add-ons, consistent hardware) Gaming PCs are VERY stable if you treat them right and set them up properly. Its cool you like consoles, but quite a few of its 'strengths' have been diminished in recent years.Hell, the new Xbox interface is a clusterfuck, chock full of advertising i didnt ask for and was never explained that it would be there someday.

    It is ALSO the height of arrogance to force complete political correctness on everyone. I absolutely REFUSE to use the term African-American to describe black people.
