I live in Brazil. Although I am seeing the rise of food prices, I am not seeing a proper shortage of food.
Everybody blame the biofuel for this rise in food prices, but anybody is talking about the rise of the OIL price. It almost doubled in one year. And oil is used for everything in agriculture. Then, is natural for the food prices to rise.
This rise come just after a world wide crisis caused by that subprime problems. In my opinion, all the investors turned their investments to commodities (like oil and even seeds) to avoid risks. This caused all this chain of price rises.
So, in my opinion, the rise of food prices is caused by speculators in the market and not by biofuel.
I read somewhere the bullets and the missiles are the best products inside the capitalism logic: you really need them, they are expansive and you cannot reuse it.
Non-lethal weapons/amunition can be reused. Or, at least, they are less expansive to reuse.
Then, it is hard to make money with the non-lethal approach.
This is business. Cicarelli made part of her fame woking at MTV Brasil. And, some time ago, the the tv channel started a service similar to the youtube http://mtv.terra.com.br/mtvoverdrive/.
Ironically, Cicarelli hosts one of that tv shows where someone can find a girlfriend (or a boyfriend), and she use to incentivate everybody to kiss.
