    That's the beauty of a HUD, you don't actually look at it but through it. If you are focusing on the HUD, you are doing it wrong.

    You don't hear a dial tone on landlines either. I've always wondered about that on TV shows because I've never heard a dial tone on a landline when the other person hung up, just silence.

    I completely agree with you but I must point out that cell phone cameras are getting very good. When my parents were visiting my family we went to the zoo and my dad took his DSLR and I just took my iPhone 4S. We took lots of pictures, some of them very similar but it seemed to be a toss of the coin which picture was better. I was pretty suprised, I didn't expect my phone to stack up so well. Plus, iOS 6 let's you get to the camera from the lock screen with a swipe up, so no fumbling there.

    It probably wouldn't be that hard, actually. Let's say the airliner is a 767. At 1,000 feet, it will likely be traveling at less than 150 knots. It has a wing span of 156 feet and a tail height of 52 feet so it is a pretty big target. All you have to do is sit in the approach path and adjust as needed.

    It probably has some kind of automated landing sequence. Even the tiny indoor helicopters will automatically land or at least shut down if they lose the remote's signal for more than a few seconds.

    I seem to remember an article stating that there is always some percentage error on the receiver's end and they've managed to snoop without introducing noticeably more error. The snooping still caused errors but they still fell within the expected range of errors.

    How was the resolution an odd multiple? It had exactly double the pixels in each dimension. If you took 4 iPhone(original, 3G, 3GS) screens and put them together, you'd have the same resolution. Not only that, it was 1024x768, an extremely common resolution for many older screens.

    They aren't losing money in the military sector. I see more and more iPad Minis every week. Something about the Air Force drives people to buy Apple products. Every other person, at minimum, has an iPod Touch and probably at least 1/4 have a MacBook.

    Actually, drone pilots do a basic flying course all the way up through solo flights and cross-country flights. They are just as real pilots as anybody that just got their private pilot's license. They don't have the extensive flight training of their fighter/bomber/transport brothers but they do have extensive training flying their drones.

    If B-52s are fine, why not send in a B-2? It is a great opportunity for actual combat experience with minimal risk. They don't have the same high jacking risks as drones, have multiple crew members in case one of them does have a stroke, and they fly well above the birds.

    I went to a race once. It was indeed dull as hell and you missed half the crashes because you are suddenly free to watch the heated battle for 15th place on the other end of the track. You don't know there was a wreck until you notice the smoke and by then it is 90% over.

    It isn't just you. My internet speed is actually quite low but YouTube pisses me off to no end. Trying to switch to a lower quality video often makes it load even slower! I wish people would stop using it. It isn't good anymore.

    Just for kicks, I was reading a Halo book and I felt like I was being talked down to. In the space of probably 20-30 pages I was reminded 3 times that "they had standing orders to recover any Covenant weapons." The first time I read the statement, I thought "Hey, that's a good idea." The second time "Yeah, I know. " The third time, -_- "Do you think I'm stupid?"

    It depends on the application. Also, each of those 4GHz cores is more powerful individually than 4GHz cores from the past. I doubt a 2013 Ferrari can pick up 20 friends as fast as 20 Beetles.
