I'm looking into getting a couple canvas prints because the look nice and also absorb sound. My house is tile except for the bedrooms and sound carries very well in it. I can hear conversations in the kitchen from the master bedroom, which is down a long hall, around a turn, and down another long hall.
I bet it has something to do with being able to see where you are going. It is very tiring to lift you head to see in your direction of travel for more than a short time. It also makes it harder to look around and see your surroundings. The F-35's synthetic aperture radar and helmet helps but isn't the solution. The fact remains that, given a failure of technology, you are most capable of surviving in the seated position.
If the F-35 is supposed to replace the F-22, that must be a new development. The F-35 was never supposed to replace it. They serve different purposes. The F-35 could almost be called the A-35. It can hold its own in the air and can also be very effective against ground targets. The F-22 is designed to shoot thing out of the sky, other planes, like the F-35, will take care of things on the ground.
There are stories in every field like that. An aerospace engineer was talking to one of my classes and said that he knew aerospace engineering when he graduated. When he got to work he spent the first 2 years learning real aerospace engineering because what he thought he knew wasn't good enough for the real world.
Popular Science had an article talking about this. They calculated that accelerating/decelerating at a comfortable rate, similar to a train, will get you to Australia from the US in a fairly quick time but it still takes a while because of the slow change in speed.
I think LCD speedometers went away because you have to focus on the number. With an analog gauge I can look at it with my peripheral vision and get a general idea of how fast I'm going. I don't really need to know down to the 1s how fast I'm going. As long as I keep the needle in the general area(2-4 mph) of the speed I need to go I'm good. Highway driving often doesn't require a speedometer as I go the speed of traffic. You won't find that speed on any dashboard. Then there is readability, especially in direct sunlight. Analog gauges never washout in sunlight.
Maybe they are taking after the USB committee. What are you supposed to do after you give the first revision a name that can't be topped, like Full Speed. My first USB hub was slower than I intended because I thought Full Speed was faster than Hi-Speed.
Except the wifi iPad has nothing to do with the iPhone besides being made by the same company and running the same OS. The 4G iPad is a more fair comparison, starting the $630 and going up to $830. That is in the realm of mobile phone pricing and does mobile phone things.
Yep. I have AT&T and my iPhone got updated to say I have 4G. "3G" doesn't even exist on the coverage map anymore. The worst part is the service is exactly the same, it was just a name change. AT&T is pissing on everybody and calling it rain.
Several years ago I read about a Canon TV lense that was 6-600mm I think. I know it was 100x zoom. They advertised that you could go from seeing most of the stadium down to almost filling the screen with the football.
It might be like that for some equipment but not others. Look how many custom settings professional Canon cameras have compared to consumer cameras. You can specify where in the depth of field should be the focus point. I'd guess that pros liked your recorder because they just wanted the sound and would process it later while lower level consumers wanted more built-in processing so they didn't have to do it later.
Why does an image viewer need access to any files other then/Users/UserName/MyPictures? It doesn't need to scan the entire system by default looking for pictures
It does if you keep pictures everywhere but/Users/UserName/MyPictures, like on another drive.

I heard on the radio of theaters not having enough seats. People with tickets were walking in to the theater but every single seat was occupied.

I remember one episode of Voyager where a hologram complained that it took almost 60% of the ship's power just to keep the humans alive.

Tonight I couldn't believe how bright it was. I know Venus is bright but I've never seen it so bright.
Yep, all of them. There is no need for them to carry nukes. The primary reason no longer exists.
B-1s are no longer equipped to carry nukes.
You've got that right about Microsoft cellphones. I never hear of them outside tech blogs.
My iPhone doesn't support 4G but it "supports" it because AT&T renamed 3G to 4G.

Why can't you simply substitute my PC for a server? Multiple iPads can be synced with a single machine.
Maybe it was a dig, but not a good one. An iPad with a 4G radio costs basically the same as an iPhone.
The iPad can be locked down and I have backups of my iPad on my PC.
There doesn't have to be a pro-Apple message. I guess you missed the part where the iPad was needlessly mentioned?

I still get occasional chain letters that say a virus is coming that will wipe your hard drive.
You know those rating systems are flawed. They don't take in account houses that have, uh, more than two computers, and other things of that nature.
