I believe in the stability of my IBM Thinkpad 770. It is actually made out of metal unlink the crap Dell makes now:) I would only fear for my Orinoco card hanging from the side if I were to drop it.
I guess I am lucky, my instructors actually prefer PDF even though both PDF and DOC are accepted. Of course with Word doc's there is the "get longer to finish an assignment" where you open it in a text editor like Notepad, remove the first few lines of text/code/stuff and submit it. Guaranteed to lock up your TA's Word:)
>One, digital camera software seems to advance >very quickly on Windows.
I had this problem too. However I got a handy dandy Compact Flash to PCMCIA adapter so that I can pop the memory out of the camera and copy my pics to disk. Then I use gqview to view and to (right click, edit in gimp) edit them. If I want them all to be at a certain size I use the thumbnailer script for the Gimp. This just seems easier for me than the clunky software that HP provided.
My own version of this that I built last year mostly out of parts I had laying around when I was too cheap to buy a real ap:
66MHz Pentium w/ small AT Mobo
32MB RAM
AT P/S
Floppy
ISA to ribbon cable to nice 2 card PCMCIA socket ($5 from ebay +$5s/h)
Orinoco card ($60)
WRP on a floppy from nocat.net
random Intel PCI NIC
This little baby, named Gates, ran faithfully for about six months until my roommate finally got a real ap.
I remember way back in the 7th grade some little kids science project was "Can Electricity Cook Food."
They had taken a lamp cord, wired it too a couple nails, put a hotdog across the nails and plugged it in. What resulted was a really burnt terrible looking piece of completely incenerated animal meat product.
Here is my drawn out opinion on why he made this interview:
Early '90s Raster decides to make yet another window manager called Enlightenment; the hook being that it will be a "pretty" wm with lots of graphical capacity.
1998ish Enlightenment gets to be a fairly big project and gets picked up by Redhat somewhere around Redhat 5.0.
1999 Enlightenment is *the* default wm for GNOME for all of Redhat 6.x, getting it lots of exposure. However it does not make much progress in this year; finally making it to 0.16.0 by the end of the year. Also the great talk of Enlightenment 0.17 begins for it will be a truly revolutionary window manager. However the configuration for Enlightenment a terrible interface.
2000 Redhat releases Redhat 7.0 late in the year. Enlightenment is no longer the default window manager for GNOME. A much easier to configure wm, Sawfish, is used instead. Enlightenment is still included with Redhat, but is not even on the default list of window managers anymore. Enlightenment 0.17 still is not out.
2001 Enlightenment 0.17 still is not out.
Present Enlightenment 0.17 still is not out. Few people even know what Enlightenment is anymore. I do not personally know anyone besides myself who still uses Enlightenment. Nearly all of my friends that have been "recent" Linux converts in the last two years use KDE. Enlightenment is still included with several Linux distributions, but it is not enabled by default so most people will not even realize that it exists.
So poor Raster is really depressed about the years he has put into Enlightenment. It made it big for a while in 1999 but without improvements in usability it was passed over for a "better" window manager. So now, no one wants to use his software and all he can do is wallow in self pity and moan that Linux is dead on the desktop when it is just his own project that has managed to die.

I am jealous of my roommate; he has managed to get the ONLY cute CPE in the entire program.
At least I'm chasing after my own EE, even though she's in Elementary Ed...

Wonderful! This replaces my last favorite emacs command of:

> Why?
:)
Maybe where those "secret" API's come into play
> Alpha's dead? I thought BSD was dead.
What about BSD on Alpha? (dead)^2 ?
> There was no noticeable speed advantage
I am running Phoenix on a Thinkpad 770 (233MHz, 256MB ram) and it responds much faster than Mozilla.
Maybe it makes a difference compiling everything from source being that the Thinkpad is a Gentoo machine.

Come on. Everyone knows that the point of an EULA is to popup at home AFTER you have purchased the item
Just wait until CD's have an audio version of video's "FBI Warning" as the first track that cannot be skipped.

Whoops.
Of course that results in
"emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "mozillia"."
