The storage would be 'Thin Provisioned' so not all of it is assigned up front. Only a very low percentage of users will use the maximum.
Like when you build a Virtual Machine you can assign xGB to it but it 'grows into' that provisioned space.
Yes, when one of our old Dell servers fail and they have a RAID controller. Windows Server 2003 install requires you to press F6 to load additional disk drivers at first stage of install and this dialogue only looks for A:
Ahhhh I remember the old 'code discs' on C64 and old PC games where you had to line up the discs to enter the numbers that appear to unlock the game for that play. As a child it felt like something out of James Bond:-)
A bit of a tangent but I have increased mileage per tank of fuel on my car by 16% simply by knocking 5mph off my 'motorway' speed (65mph) and changing gear at 2,500rpm instead of 3,000rpm. I average around 37-40mpg.
330 miles per tank up from 270. 1.4l 2002 Ford Fiesta (UK).
I see the 'use it or lose it' scenario where I work every March. In fact it is starting now...
All year we are told to save money, then March comes around and all of a sudden we have £000's to spend. It doesn't fit in to how I think money should be spent.
The regression of the human race back to the caves continues. Why do the people in power have no idea about technology or progress?

> That's why fake "viral videos" are so painful to watch.
Good observation there. I cringe when non-IT friends show me certain viral fake-but-are-you-meant-to-know-it videos.
The one that stands out recently is the "one winged plane landing". Yeah, that is soooo fake. But I never say anything..
I've used last.fm for 4 years with about 19,000 scrobbles and this makes their recommended radio stations pretty damn good.
However, I'm confused at the 'destroying Spotify' bit. To me they are completely different services that complement each other.
I certainly couldn't use one without the other...
LOL reviews are one of the most important factors I base my purchases on. And here in the UK I go by Edge Magazine which I have been reading for 16 years.
I can trust their reviews. Anything they give a 9/10 is a must buy (if you like the genre) and the rare 10/10 are no brainers. There have only been a handful of 10/10 in the magazines long history, including one this month: Bayonetta.
What local authorities pay that? I work in IT at a local authority and the basic IT Technician wage on our helpdesk is ~£16k.
Not even second line IT Technicans get close to the £29k figure you mention.
I have given up with explaining slashes and backslahes to people who call our helpdesk. I either call it the one with the question mark on or the one without.
Microsoft have recently released an update for their Live service on the 360. This update allows you to buy 'clothes' and 'themes' for your avatar. That is what I don't understand...so I can get a Quicksilver themed t-shirt for my avatar (with MS spacebucks) and it will cost me?
But...it is just pixels on a screen that look like a Quicksilver logo?? I don't get it, why would I want to pay for that?

Are there still people today that use floppies? :)

Do you think if the tweet had the tag #joke included at the end it would've given context and been treated differently? I don't want to experiment.
I had to help a user here who couldn't log in because he used CAPS-LOCK as a SHIFT key when entering his password.
Seriously, we had to see it with our own eyes when we couldn't get his account working via phone.

At least it wasn't DRM...
That scientist has an unfortunate surname :-/
I don't think so. There was a court order involved and it is something to do with the 'Digital Economy Act' here in the UK.

I love how this story is developing. A law firm not following the UK Data Protection Act? Now that's a thing to behold...
Could be scary if you are looking for "cocktail recipes" :-/
More and more I realise Parliament is run like in the show 'The Thick Of It' ;-)

I think I know where mine goes wrong. It doesn't like short journeys. Probably doesn't have enough time for the engine to properly warm up.
Main usage is 24 miles a day commuting (2x 20 minute commutes).
Oops that should be 22%. The irony isn't lost on me for that mistake :-/

Oh dear I get 'This form is disabled' after hitting submit.
I don't think it is an email harvester because that field is optional.
Well that's my method for 'offering remote assistance' screwed then ;-)

And what if you work for AOL? No escape then.

I hear ya! Forza Motorsport 3 springs to mind, no System Link option :-(

Crap, so they know when I pause or rewind shots of sexy Suzi Perry from the Gadget Show?
