As with anything else, broadly distributing the information renders it impossible to censor;
Broadband the information now, so that if the jackboot comes down the information is already pervasive.
There is a slight skew toward the right for obvious reasons, but as with the majority of the US population, the bi-dimensional political spectrum follows a Bell Curve, with the vast majority somewhere in the middle and numbers falling off sharply as you go further out toward the edges.
Use two opposing multitouch screens, instead of a screen opposing a keyboard and mouse.
Then your keyboard can customize to whatever application you want, with whatever customizations you desire.
You can then drag drop in interface modules, such as keyboard, trackpad + as many buttons as you want, number pad, faders and dials, music keyboard, drum machine pads, etc etc etc etc.
And it would be far easier and more durable than a keyboard - no key-crumbs, more water resistance, etc.
I've seen these sold with motorhomes and 'toyhaulers' in California and Nevada.
Instead of lugging a whole other car around, snowbirds can drive this little guy right up into the cargo bay of the 'toy-hauler' (a motor-home or trailer with a compartment for ATVs and other 'toys') or just pull it along behind.
These really should be plug in electrics though. And for its size, the mileage should be double that..
Co-operation has always co-existed with competition, from the first multicellular organism onward. Why does this still confuse allegedly sentient beings?
Rational Self Interest, the benign form of Selfishness (which you and so many others so easily confuse), INCLUDES helping others: - helping you creates a positive environment, which helps me - helping you may leave you in my debt, which helps me - helping you may increase my positive PR value, which helps me - helping you may make you more self sufficient, therefore less dependent, which helps everyone, which helps me etc etc etc
Without adding flex-fuel capability to future hybrids, this is a minor improvement.
I'm all in favor of anything that realistically increases our ability to conserve or wean ourselves off fossil fuels, but given that it would cost around $25 apiece to add this option at the factory, not doing so is short-sighted at best.
I've been volunteering at a biofuel co op in Madison for the last year or so.
Probably half the users of our biodiesel, and about a quarter of the conversion kits we sell to run Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO), are VW TDI owners, from Bugs to Passats.
The TDI engine consistently gets between 40 and 50 mpg, whether running petro or bio diesel.
Add to this the fact that the Co2 was in the air months prior to burning (NO NET CO2 GAIN) and that all of the money for said fuel went to farmers and local businesses, not to petrofascist states propped up by our tax dollars in the form of aid, and the choice becomes clear:
See, I have 5 fingers on each hand, more than enough to fulfil most functions single handedly on a multitouch interface, leaving the other hand free for... whatever.
WHY can't I have a true-electric wall chargeable vehicle with an SVO-compatible diesel engine for on-road recharging with intelligent powertrain and Charge/MPG readout in the dash? WHY aren't CAFE standards raised to require more efficient vehicles?
Oh yeah, because big oil = energy monopoly = big money = well funded lobbyists = politial pwnage.
.. on a non-RIAA label I have to say that this pisses me off more than illegal downloading. Which pisses me off a lot already.
I rely heavily on streaming stations, socialnetworking sites, and other internet tools to promote my work to my little niche demographic. This corporate bullying effectively removes yet more of the "little guy"'s ability to put out and promote non-major-label content.
Bad enough that little pissants steal our work, now big pissants want a piece. >=[
.. none of this really matters.
Whoever has the deepest pockets, wins.
Lobbying and campaign reform need to happen immediately.. unless those in power WANT a civil war?
Causus Belli? What better excuse?
"What I believe in cannot be proved correct scientifically, therefore it cannot be proven wrong scientifically."
No, see, it doesnt work that way.
What you believe cannot be proven, period, therefore it is imaginary.
Future of biofuels, both diesel and gas replacements, is in random biomass conversion. Future conversion processes will most likely involve bioengineered bacteria and similar processes to create biofuel from any biomass available, from foodstock leftovers to waste products to... corpses.
Sugary and cellulosic biomass is best for eth.
- Switchgrass
- Sawdust
- Beets, etc
Oily biomass is best for biodiesel.
- Vegetable oils, such as soy, hemp, rapeseed, etc. whether pre-or post consumer (these still leave the seed itself as feedstock after oils are extracted.)
- Tallow/animal fats
- Algae

And C) Macs are by definition higher end machines, even the low end ones, therefore their small chunk of the marketshare is a chunk of the Best part of the market, with a niche buffer to boot.
And D) As a result of C, Macs have a higher profit margin. The bargain box doesn't have much in the way of profit built in.

I have prior art, dangit..
Why stop with just the touchpad?

Agreed. As a mac using pc-building audio geek, this anecdote sounds bogus to me. Mod down for fibbing.
Agreed! Adium rocks!

Diesels pwn Hybrids.
For Jehovah's Witnesses, blood transfusions are forbidden, as they percieve it as 'consuming' blood.
A no-no according to some scripture or other.
I wonder if they can use this new syntheglobin stuff.

Failure my arse - tell it to my audio interface, my scanner, my external HD, my DV cam, my neighbors Sony notebook, my digital camera...

You sir, are aptly named.

Keep your Vista, my shiny new MacBookPro and I are plenty happy with OSX (and XP under bootcamp).

These are not exclusive, all are part of a rational self interest guided worldview.
I blame the notion that they are on those that would propagate a top down groupthink worldview.
Fairness is in my best interest.
Reciprocity is in my best interest.
Rational altruism is in my best interest.
Cooperation is in my best interest.
Etc.
Intelligent self interest doesnt mean me me me all for me.
Cooperation and Competition are equally valid survival strategies, and most organisms switch off as the situation dictates.
