Most RAID controllers already support that, it's called a hot standby. It's just a spun down drive attached to the controller that is activated and added to the array when a drive fails.
You know there are still those of us who object to using our laptops in the bathroom or in bed, would rather not bring them out on the bus. Or simply just want a break from their eye strain inducing monitors. Ill keep my printed media thank you very much.
The only thing with SRAM is that when its powered on it'll flip to one of its states and supposedly (Ive never tested this out myself) it will be biased to the state it had when it was powered off. Of course the effect that causes this bias is so small that any fluctuation will get rid of it and leave you with random data. I figure the simplest way to be sure is too simply add a bit of logic to the CPU initialization that wipes the caches the moment power is applied.
Well at least they layed down a rational reason and were 100% open and honest about it. Which is more then can be said for just about every other government in the world.
3 of those times were a non issue and the 4th would be very difficult if not impossibe to exploit. In the specific case of the article the football was still with an aide and they left him behind, it was left behind on Airforce 1 and when Reagan got shot the aide with the football was seperated from him. In the 4th case of the dry cleaning the codes AFAIK change every day so its doubtful that even the most dedicated of organizations would be able to exploit it.
Well I spent a semester taking a "Networking Engineering" course at college, but now that I've realized that the course is a pile of crap, the school is a pile of crap and the job prospects are a pile of crap I'm switching to Avionics at a whole different school. Apparently the grass is far greener and the parties way better in that field.
Hey now this man speaks the truth albeit with a poor choice of words, to use an alternative but equally popular automotive analogy, I may attach a PCIE connector to my car but that does not therefore mean that my car is suitable for operation inside a standard computer case much less plugged into an actual PCIE slot.
And indeed you would be correct, cabin air pressure is derived from bleed air ie. Air bled off from the engines. Although I personally haven't noticed the smell before, either that or just didn't care. As for being on the ground, it is an airport there's certainly an abundance of plane engine around.
So they increased shareholder value by over 10%? That's a pretty sweet deal, I would have been all over that if I knew it was going to happen.

I would suspect either dust or you got a bad revision, mine is like the GPs in that it never produces a noticeable amount of heat.

No you wouldn't, either that or you're a violent idiot.
So you're above proofreading then? I'm personnally more inclined to blame the user rather then the interface.
Well fuck me in the ass and call me Sally, why the hell are we discussing this then?

Great, now I can watch the girl next door change AND leech her wireless with my telescope.
I didnt, but if you happen to have the numbe in Libraries of Congress that would be great.

I have Compaq servers here and I'm lucky if the hard drives have finished spiing up after 5 minutes, much less thought about loadign the OS.

Looks like an aircraft meant for hypersonic flight to me... Dunno why it needs to look like anything else.
Alright so were in agreement then, we shoot the president and abolish the position.

Whatever features continue to get added are nothing but bloat now.
There, fixed that for ya.

Perhaps simply because blue is a calming color?
I hope someone has their Camcorder running with a long play tape, its going to be a hell of a show, albeit a somewhat slow one.
I think there's a Darwin award about that.
(... wow I feel like a loser)
And rightfully so!
A CPU doesnt make a computer, a CPU is a computer in need of a power supply, memory, clock source and BIOS. Fit that all on a penny and call me back.
