I think the only coins which have remained the same from the decimialisation until now are the 20p and the pound coin, no doubt the'll have there sights on changing the 20 :)

Problem is the dolar is now so wide spread, it'd be an almost impossible task to replace all of them, mabie someone will but it'd take at least 20 years to get near 100% usage of the new notes.

But I havn't heard either moaning too much about piracy, they probably know that there never going to sell vast numbers to the home user market and are more keen on protecting there commercial customers who might be spending $500k on equiping there office with the latest versions of Max.

Though it would be nice if they could both provide fully functional versions at a decent low price, with the only restriction that no profit can be made using it, I know most game modders probably couln't afford to dig into there pockets for $6000, but a few might concider it around $300, even if they can't sell there work without a upgrade.

The User-ISP one is pretty solid. The only diference to the current system is where the filtering takes place. Instead of you filtering out incoming pings (for example) the filtering would be done on the other side of the Cable/ADSL line, thus freeing the limited-bandwidth link for valid trafic.

It could be abused in some situations, but for the most part, some simple rules to remove filters which arn't in use anymore, and to ensure only sensible requests are made would probably make it very dificult for any organisation on it's own to abuse the system.

Mabie if I find time I'll write out the idea and pick though all the issues, been on my mind for a long time, under the basic principle, of why should I recieve DDoS's why can't the zombies ISPs shut off the flow and save the harm to me, my ISP and the backbones.
