This is a straw man. GP isn't saying that what PayPal is doing is prohibited by the constitution, he is saying that they are willfully interfering with a charity trying to help with a man's constitutional rights. Thus, they clearly don't support the constitution.
Hell if I know. When I found out that was his "reasoning", I stopped listening to him. Oh noes, only social networking sites can run a successful business! Because people aren't raving in the streets about how great Google is, they're on death's doorstep! This author is an idiot.
Absolutely. I was simply disputing the "not, by any stretch of the imagination, good" statement. As art is subjective, that is a statement which cannot be decided except on a personal level (which was not what was being implied). I'm not saying Hollywood should continue making movies people won't pay for (as much as I liked Watchmen and would like more movies like it).
That depends on whether you evaluate it as an adaptation of the comic or on its own merits, of course. Having not read the comic (and having no desire to, for that matter), I evaluated the movie simply as a movie, and in that regard I thought it was excellent. One of the best movies I've ever seen.
If you like Demigod (I did too, until I learned that Impulse wouldn't run on 64bit Windows 7 or Vista -- maybe this has since changed)
I currently run Impulse just fine on Win7 64-bit. I never had issues, but I didn't get Win7 right away so they might have fixed it by the time I got on board.
Even though thousands of years of history prove that religion motivates people to perform the most atrocious violence, I'm not proposing to ban religion.
Thousands of years of history tell us no such thing. They tell us that religion can be used both for good and for bad, thus indicating that the cause of the atrocities you mention is rooted somewhere else, not in religion.
That's not the issue. If she had spoken to the parents, privately, about their children that's one thing. To speak about the children in this fashion on a public forum is extremely unprofessional behavior.
Normally I'm aghast when someone gets in trouble at work for their private blog/whatever, but in this case it's perfectly reasonable.
Personally, I find Mac OS to be hands down worse than Windows (and, presumably, Linux, but I haven't used it). The way they handle their menu bars is a giant fucking UI fail, and I hate using Mac OS because of it.
The problem is the game is below average and coming from previous games you have to force yourself to play it
With all due respect, you are proof that people tend to think their perspective is the only existent one. I played a hell of a lot of Civ 4 (which was my first Civ), and I still think Civ 5 is an improvement for the series. Don't say that it's impossible to think Civ 5 is good if you've played previous Civ games, because that is 100% false.
I read the CivFanatics forums a fair bit, enough to know that there are people that don't like it, but just as many that do. It's a game which is controversial amongst the fan base, but I think the fact that there are those who do love it is evidence enough that it isn't suffering from neutered game design so much as changes people don't like.
I recall Morrowind behaving in the same fashion, so I don't think that this is a "consolitis" thing, it's just the way Bethesda decided to design their controls.
On a related note, practically every major RPG released for PC recently has been crippled as a cross-platform "port". I'm getting sick and tired of buying games built for lowest common denominator consoles, they are holding back PC gaming. Sure, be happy if you have a console and you like it, I'm fine with that. The problem is that the developers are holding back PC gaming which could be advancing a lot quicker were it not for consoles. I'm not only talking about graphics here, but things like physics, better and more intelligent AI, better storylines, etc. The capacity of the PC is far greater than any console and the possibilities are almost endless, but since everything has to be simultaneously developed for consoles, major compromises are made during development that hold back the PC version and limit what can go into the game development. It's all about fitting the game within the console's limitations.
*cough cough* DA2, even though Bioware swore up and down that DA would be the PC-focused series and ME the console-focused series.
One even got offended when I pointed out how cheesy it was, despite the fact it's obviously meant to be like that (similar to Red Dwarf, but not as good).
That's not what I would classify as "offensive", but I do disagree. I've watched the show, and never felt it was cheesy. A bit heavy on fan service, perhaps, but not cheesy.
Salary means nothing without knowing what cost of living is wherever he will be living. Where I live (northeastern Wisconsin), I make $37,000, but that is a pretty good salary given the low cost of living. TFS says "Texas", which doesn't narrow it down much. I'd assume the job is in a major city (which means higher cost of living), but he may choose to live where cost of living is low and commute in. We don't know.
Pretty much. Firefly was one of the stupidest shows I've had the displeasure to watch. I want my sci-fi shows to not be Westerns, thank you very much.
You realize that this means I have to kill you now.

It's not purely Zelda, it's more like a melding of Zelda with God of War. Great game though.

Subjective art is subjective. For my part, it is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

With the audience of this site, it wouldn't surprise me if Lynx is a test case when the design is modified.

If /dev/null is fast and web scale, I will use it!

Clearly Civ 5... suffers from neutered game design.
You and I didn't play the same Civ 5. That game has everything I liked about Civ 4 and more. In other words, a worthy sequel.
The beautiful irony is that now, my comment applies to itself. Doh! ;)
I love reading criticisms of spelling usage which is completely correct.
Looks like someone found his wit *sunglasses* a little too sharp.

I like your ideas, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
