I am so sick of this Gen-Y, Gen-X, Baby Boomer pseudo-psychology that is always going around.
I am a tail-end baby boomer and possess traits of Gen-X and now Gen-Y. Especially in terms of, "If the job gets boring I leave."
So what does that make me, a Gen-BXY?
Everyone would be a lot better off if lame studies stopped trying to pigeon-hole people into categories.
The Cassini is plutonium powered so hopefully it does not crash and piss of ETs with the sort of scenario depicted here in this crack-pot attempt to stop the Cassini launch back in '97. http://www.junkscience.com/news/broad.html
The only explanation that seems plausible for this move, beyond utter lunacy, is that the investment company is hoping to become such a thorn in Novell and IBMs side with continuing litigation that they entice them to purchase SCO to get rid of them.
Agreed! Implemented properly, and commented and coded wisely, Perl is just about one of the best coding languages for serious web application scripting.
I've worked on myriad web apps in Perl including proprietary Enterprise Identity Manager and Single Sign-On solutions.
A ridiculous idea which will come to fruition, at least in America, due to our lack of freedom.

Over a year ago I participated in an interview panel related to an open Information Security position at my company.
We interviewed many who looked good on paper, even an MS in Comp Sci. from USC; only to determine that most of them a GUI-slingers with little programming ability or understanding beyond.NET.

The Russians have been landing on land for decades. I always thought it was because water landings were too inconvenient for them and that water was best. I mean how could you not based on who actually achieved Man on the Moon? Now we find that maybe the Russians were smarter and we just luckier?
If this line is you, "I am downright embarrassed by the quality of my code. It is buggy, slow, fragile, and a nightmare to maintain," then yes, you should listen to other's opinions about your code.
If the above does not describe you and your code works as intended, then consider the opinion of the persons who makes changes. If those changes do not create significant improvements in execution, then consider your lesson learned.

I suggested to my company that we use Carnegie Mellon's reCAPTCHA program to solve two problems
1) Improve our CAPTCHA implementation
2) Help Carnegie Mellon with their online publishing initiative.
To my pleasant surprise I recently found the company decided to go ahead with reCAPTCHA. Sweet!

Use a debit card instead? Good one, then scammers can empty your account and you have no recourse.
Scammers racking up fraudulent charges on a credit card is a non-issue, you are only liable for $50 max. The credit card companies lose; not you.
If you really want to be safe; prevent identity theft by locking your credit report with the big 3.
