    Take a look at the Slim PCs from motherboard maker Microstar. Uses an Intel 815e chipset, decent NIC, and the case doesn't look like ass.

    Um, how about you re-read the original post and then try again. Poster #1 says "People complain when Linux doesn't have software, then complain when it gets software." Poster #2 says, "No one is asking for Linux MP3 players so your comment is not valid."

    That has nothing to do with "no being welcome to create" the software you want...Jeeze. There's nothing wrong with saying you aren't excited about a piece of software because 5 other alternative already exisit.

    Here's something to think about concerning digital watches. If someone grows up only using a digital watch, will the phrase "quarter till five" or "half past seven" mean anything to them? Analog watches have the curious ablilty to allow you to visualize time as something that can be divided.

    Nobody makes Linux users play with new kernels like this. You can live happily with the kernel that came with your distro (barring the seldom security update) and never give a thought to the kernel devel process. Besides, the "Monopoly" forces you to wait a couple years for a kernel update, then makes you pay for it.

    Then you need to check out Overclocked ReMix. There are some excellent game remixes available. Right now the downloads are limited to certain hours (bandwidth issues) unless you use a mirror. It's really cool to hear how creative people can be with the old game tunes you grew up playing.

    In any case, stop trying to backpedal on an area that you clearly know nothing about. The printing that my Epson Photo 750 does in Linux is *outstanding* Complex office document? Are you on crack? How about a 5X7 scanned photograph printed at 1440x720 resolution...it's incredible how good those gimp-print drivers are.

    Every two days??? I replace the batteries in my Palm every two months. Sorry, but when you are on the road and a sync place is not available, your $500 toy becomes useless. Oh, and I've used both an iPAQ and a Palm and you have to be halucinating to think the iPAQ is just as thin as a Palm.
